Time flies when your having fun. Not ideal if the days gone doing one thing and you wanted to do more. Add in the 'needed' to do something and it's all up in the air, all of a sudden(in game and out). Weeks like that 'just' happen and doing is just done by getting some stuff done and a whole lot of nothing new.
I've not spent as much time in World of Warcraft as I'd like but then again I could have played more of it instead of anything else.......
Or rushing this post out the door after just starting it...
Guilty of my non-time management, not that I have to, so I guess I'm just more disorganized this week......
World of Warcraft....
I did get to do the Warlock quest in Darkmoon Fair.... If not much else. Doing it reminded me so so much of what I had to go through as a Warlock back in Vanilla. Especially the mounts. At least back then it felt really special. Class specific quests for class specific mounts in an MMORPG; Who'd have thunk it!
Since the store item that 'came with tender coins' I've felt 'off' about the game again. Doing in game actions to build up the currency to buy items all of a sudden feels so much more worthless. Or not worth the effort. No longer special. At least I only payed for a month of it.
Palia....
Over the last while(weeks and months) while being under an NDA I can now say I've been part of the tests for the game. Somewhat special but far from unique. Really nice to be a part of and see ahead of 'time'.
No longer prohibited in saying anything and in the briefest of words; The game is what is says it is. At least to my eye it's both delivering and living up to all it said it would be. A cozy, friendly enjoyable, no hassle fantasy MMO. As a casual carebear of a player I'm biased.
It's not that you don't get to 'kill' anything in the game but what you do interact with in a 'bow meets sniper shot' way isn't gratuitous(for most players).
So if you love playing mini games to progress, making things and sorting items; Cooking, fishing and gathering to progress stats of all kinds(as well as meet other players)..... Then this is the game for you. Think Stardew Valley with real players in the world(outside your private home/instance) and your in the ballpark.
All the game systems and mechanics are intuitive and well described and tutorialized. There's not that much more I can really add than to say try it and see for yourself. It's free. There's no pay to win shop but there is a shop for customization options, vanity/looks only. Not that there's a limit on looks but none of it's in any way essential for gameplay. Sign up and give it a look(Switch and PC cross-play)!
Darkest Dungeon....
Ditto, ditto, ditto. The more things change the more they stay the same. Progress again at the expense of the lowest level Heroes. Gold gained along with trinkets and heirlooms.
I did try to down the last of the drowned crew again but I've definitely lost my touch as I was handed my axe.
Still progress is progress and some has been made including more Shambler take-downs to make me feel better.
Planet Crafter....
A game that I keep playing because it's fun to just be in. Tweaking the export rockets and associated systems for production is another story; An obsession that has been somewhat annoying of late. No matter the deficiency detected and my corrective actions; Those actions do not 'fix' the problem(s). Highlighting more deficiencies instead. An infinity loop of frustration. The more complex your exports, the more fine tuning I do that then does not seem to be fine tuned. For now I'm in the mindset that the in game systems are broken or at least not balanced enough to be fine tuned. So the real response is to go all manual on it's azz and shift materials manually after X amount of rockets have been done etc. To correct the system. For now it's how it's working and I can or at least live with it. All part of the process.... This latest patch/version of the game is a real game changer and it's easy to get bogged down in the minutia. Perfection being the enemy of good, as they say.
Euro Truck Sim 2 & American Truck Sim....
ETS 2 has seen some minor tweaks to my in game company. Drivers, trucks and trailers adjusted with no real on the road gameplay.
ATS on the other hand as seen a few contracts fulfilled.
ATS also has an event for the new map and it's the first event I've come across in either game which I can't take part in.
I could buy the DLC but ETS 2 is my real take on the games and ATS was and is 'just' a distraction. The alternative reality. While I've no Fear Of Missing Out with the event, I do know it's passing me by. That said I'd have a lot to catch up on if I was taking it seriously. The content is real; But what I have got is still a lot of content.
Star Trek Online....
Events come, events go and rewards are claimed. As I've said many times before I'd not be playing the game(even when complaining), if I wasn't having fun.
There's been plenty to do in game both given by events and by my own making. Ships need adjusting, checking and testing, some more than others. A bunch more ships got dry docked/discharged across the board to ease my own head cannon/organization. It's an ongoing problem process.
I could really do with the phoenix prize event on Xbox, me needs that there Zeph shotgun. Then again I'd not say no to other forms of character based events..... Recruits.... On both platforms. To cover more contingencies, says he with no real purpose for them(outside of an xbox KDF).
As fun as Drozana can be to see with players milling about in party mode; It's easy to see the crowds disperse as those events end. Kind of a bummer in the regard.
The next event is a fun one for me, I really enjoy the Kobayashi Maru No Win Scenario; So am looking forward to it and it's changes this year. It should be a real challenge for the general population rather than the lowest bar possible. Time will tell.
There was (a) John Wick around on Earth Space Dock.... Subtle but appreciated.
PowerWash Simulator....
Slow and steady progress. Again.
I'd say joy in doing and repeat myself but it's true; About this and so many many games. Yet not quiet doing it to 'just' for fun or to 'just' finish the campaign and get the achi's but kind of is. PowerWashing goes on.
DAVE THE DIVER....
The game that keeps on giving. On so many levels in so many ways.... Seems to be a gaming theme of the week for me. An easy to play game but one that takes more to master. I'm enjoying it, taking my time and enjoying.
