GRW....
So it's done.... Tier 1.... It completed in a very undramatic way. Ending with the clearing of a Unidad base. In the usual no real challenge just a few more XP killing kind of way. I'm not jumping for joy but I'm not completely unhappy either. It's all very 'meh'.
I'm kind of wishing I'd just gone ahead with clearing the rest of the Fallen Ghosts DLC and moved on to work on the rest of my Hitman playthrough. All in all I know the niggling completionist in me would have and did win out. Completing the Tier system on my main was always going to happen once it started. I'll not be doing it on any other character. The Tier system is great for newer characters that were at least halfway through the main campaign when the system was released. I know for my smg/lmg second playthrough character the tier system added spice to the gameplay and the main campaign made the XP grind a non issue as you had the story line to follow. I'd say that's the best way the tier system is used, as an accompaniment to the campaign. I've no intention of finishing off the tier system with my second character let alone the third.
There is a lot to like about the game and I'd not have stuck to it for this long if it wasn't enjoyable. The sights and sense of accomplishment overall are great. Longterm there are some elements that are grating. Like sand in a shoe, one grain adds to another and before long your hobbling around on that perfect looking beach. There have been enormous additions, tweaks to the game not to mention community outreach from the developers; But that only lasts so long even with great games like this.
Again I'll say it would be cool to be able to carry over and use your main campaign characters in the DLC's, even if you had to complete and be Tier 1 before moving on. It would've been motivation and a prestige badge of honour. Your DLC characters are started fresh and are only a cosmetic resemblance of the character you took through the main campaign, never mind ground out the Tier levels. That fact really takes away a lot from the game for me.
As I said before I don't like the Narco Road DLC, I can't see myself ever going back to it at all. The Fallen Ghosts DLC is something I will go back and complete as it appealed to me from teh moment I started it. My third co-op only levelling character could be interesting depending on how the community is long term, so may be worth dipping back into.
As for the PvP, as good as it is (and it is), I dont' think I'll be jumping into it, the thought of levelling up another character with tiers/levels and XP is offputting. It's not like Tier 1 unlocks a lot of PvP items either.
The game has so many elements it can be all things to all people; But I'd say in reality players see it as a lot to like but ignore (if not dislike) a lot also. It's just a disappointment that there is a lack of interconnectivity between all the elements (main game/DLC's/PvP) that make up the greater Ghost Recon Wildlands.
And thats it. Unlock a weapon skin....
I did finish off the damage bonus for the Tier assault rifle reward....Boosted but never used (not even dropped once).

Stupid fun....
I've never played nor been interested in Broforce, but it looks like that games devs have joined up with The Expendables to produce a free game called The Expendabros.
It's a good game, not great but it's got a fun element that allows it's kind of 'stupid' to shine.... Just like the movies it's all brainless fun for however long you want to enjoy it.
Stardew Valley....
Progress and fun all round. Except for the fishing... Fishing sucks in the game or rather I suck at fishing in the game but I want to complete the centre handins so a necessary evil....

The Last Night....
A friend shared a trailer and promo video to me for the 'The Last Night' game. I'm glad he did I'm loving the style and the inspiration they draw from. It should be a great game!
I thought I recognised the music in the trailer. They mention it in the promo, a track I'd not heard in a while but I do remember the very haunting video for it (Lyrics, analysis).

Hitman....
The Farm in Colorado isn't as bad as I'd heard about; I'm sure it will get harder as I whittle down the challenges. Harder difficulty levels could also make it a nightmare given the 4 targets. Thankfully the normal mode allows for plenty of saves. I doubt I'll ever do Pro on any level....

With my total Zen at just under 1000 I've been browsing the store again but nothing peeked my interest. I could gamble it all....

GRW....
Tier two done.... This time round the hour of the booster ended within a few thousand points of the level 'ding'. One more tier left to do....
Darkest Dungeon....
Speaking of recent updates, Darkest Dungeon gets it's official new class. The Shield Breaker DLC has just been released.
I'd get it but my main campaign playthrough has no spaces free on the roster, and I know I wont' be removing any if the characters to make room. I've put too much time, effort and gold into all of them....... Not to mention my sentimentality. Hmmmmm time will tell if my interest in the DLC beats my sentiment.
Xbox Gold Live....
Novembers games don't seem to be interesting to me at all.... I'll still be claiming them, free is free after all.... Maybe in trying one or two out I'll change my mind....

Patch 3.0.150.188 A lot of numbers for a patch but one that's got a lot of Improvements, changes updates and fixes.
A game I love but one that has been pushed to the back burner of late.... I've got too many games to go through. I'll take my time and experaince it more fully when I can......

STO....
Today saw my 5th character 'ding' 60 and max out.
Like the KDF character before her I've started the process of gaining admiralty missions/levels for better dilithium rewards.
Converting Dil to Zen on my other characters now sees my Zen balance at just over 800. Looking in the store I don't see anything I need.... I might save up further in the long term and actually get a cross faction T6 Tactical ship bundle. My original thoughts on getting a T6 faction specific ship for my Romulan and Klingon characters can then be fulfilled. Not that I'm in any way pushed about that any more, I did get the T5 ships from the exchange for them after all. And my Romulan T5 Mirror ship has performed as well as any T6 for her last 20 levels. On both Romulan and Klingon I've now seen most of their specific story lines; I'm not in any hurry to make them the best they can be as long as they stay capable.
I'm definitely going to work on the reputations/abilities, with my main working on and providing the sponsorship tokens first and see how that works out.
It'll be interesting to see what the Winter Event ship will be... A returning ship? A new one?
An Exchange/Bank shoutout to the character below for his looks. Like a lot of characters the Men in Black look does stand out. But I think this character at his 7 or 8 feet tall stance looked particularly cool in the moment.

Sociable Soccer....
A lot more news has been coming out about soccer titles of note.
With the battle between Fifa and PES on the pitch, it's not the simulation pitch gameplay I'm really looking for, even with Fifa getting it's career mode...
On the management side off the pitch I'm not sure about Football manager 2018.
From what I've been reading (this & this), the game seems like it's too much management.
I'm being very fussy. Choosing any of the titles above either on and off the pitch, they all seem too die hard simulation dedicated for the gameplay I want.
So my attention was drawn to the arcady fun of sociable soccer more so now more than ever.
Sociable soccer has nostalgia ebbing from it's core, not only from it's own SWOS franchise dev background but in the way that it also reminds me of the older Megadrive Fifa 95. It's still in early access but it promises a manager mode as well as it's pitch play. Definitely a game with a lot of potential as a 'Lite' Fifa/Football Manager, for now that floats my boat. I'm not sure when I'll pick it up, it does need a lot more work but I'll be keeping an eye on it for sure.
