Still here, still plugging away....

Time is flying. Blink and it's almost seems like time travel ..... Not sure if that's a getting older thing or 'just' interpretation of so much happening all the time in life(personal and otherwise). Anyway, on to gaming and 'stuff'.

The Stop killing Games updates have been interesting. Progress is progress.

The recent Games Workshop franchise sale on Steam saw Nostalgia Nerd do up a video on some of the games involved. Interesting enough. The sale saw me splurge less than €5 for the Blood Bowl games. While seeing the first games content was of some interest, the second games graphics make the experience a lot more pleasurable.

Splattercatgaming has featured The Forever Winter game over the years(currently on sale). Still in development it's progress has been worth keeping an eye on. Not that I'm really into extraction shooters but the 40k vibe of it all has a certain appeal. Still on my wishlist(like so much else).

The first time I ever played Defender of the Crown was via a second hand haul of C64 disks back in the day. One of my top three or four sim/strategy games of those times(early 90's). So to see a return of the game with old and new swap-able graphics(etc) is a blast from the past. Defender of the Crown: The Legend Returns

By the by, the other games I'd list as my other favorites from back than Supremacy(Overlord), Johnny Reb II and Match of the Day. All different genres but enjoyable for hours.  Saves done via Action Replay IV and a second hand 5 n 1/4 inch drive.

Planet of Lana 2 has come out but I've given it a wide birth. I've played the first and it's a great story with emotion. I think that a second game(for me) would only take away from the first's experience and I don't want to ruin that. Good as the story and mechanics seem to be....

ACG

Hitman has seen some more Twitch drops which I've claimed.

Not enough to make me play the game again, not just yet, but good to get extra freebies.

Sniper Elite Resistance saw me plug away at a few more bits and pieces in game, more for the sake of it via enjoyment. Fun is fun.

Ball X Pit's had a big update and saw me hammer away at the content, as much for the new unlocks as for the general enjoyment of a great game. Got all the new items.......

Euro Truck Sim 2 and American Truck Sim have seen some activity(more ets 2 than ats). But the number of announcements for DLC is beyond fun. Talk about an explosion of content; I really thing they should have been spacing things out more. Give the community the chance to all go together as one rather than be split with lots of F.O.M.O.

The latest DLC makes 5 on my Steam list as of today..... Just to keep an eye on....

Still it's good to see the game develop, improve and get so many quality of life changes.

World of Trucks: Hearts in Bloom Online Event was on par with such seasonal content(https://blog.scssoft.com/2026/02/hearts-in-bloom-event.html).

The updates are ever ongoing. Changes to events (which are paused for the works to be done) have a lot of promise. https://blog.scssoft.com/2026/03/world-of-trucks-refuelling-our-events.html

Also interesting to see the work for the console versions progressing.

No Mans Sky is ploughing ever onward and upward. So much free content it's way past forgiveness overkill. Just funny when compared to another certain very paid space game that's not even out yet.......... Just saying....

There's too much game for me to try and get back into again(not even to just hop in a and look around. I've said that before. Nice to see but not really take part in.

I did take advantage of the twitch drops from the expansion realease. Freebies are good but there are so many updates they are all melding into a constant new of newness mush. Hard to keep track of..... And I'm not even playing the game!

So no wonder I thought this meme and vid were apt to add here......

So fast with the updates there's another just out..... Pet battles!!!!

Escape From Duckov has been another new game I'm currently into. A complete time sink. As I've said before I'm not into extraction shooters, but this game with it's style and fun is 'different'.

Dungeons 4, was removed from my wishlist. Not that it's done anything as a game to me as a gamer but after seeing it some time ago via Xbox Ultimate(when I was subbed); I've changed my mind about it. A game and style that I've seen and played before..... All that and then the price and DLC costs "made" me change my mind.

which I enjoyed. A game that has been on my wish-list for a long time.

Finishing moves feel so satisfying....

The game has since been launched; Another one on the 'to be played' list, when I pick it up.

With recent new games being started and finished in quick order I've been reminded of three games I've had on the long finger. ChorusThe SaboteurStar Trucker.; All which I need to give more time to(the eternal problem).

Chorus after some gameplay had a hook back in me, but I didn't get to have any serious gameplay.

Chorus has an adjustment period in ship handling and in game systems.(missions/locations) for me. With the feel of an open world I think I'm ascribing too much credit for too much content that really isn't there. I need to go look and do side missions rather than shy away from clogging a mission journal that wouldn't be clogged even if I picked up everything I could get.

The Saboteur, is enjoyable and it's mechanics are interesting; I think I've been holding off on it due to the expected grind of each area. Again a game that needs me to really dive into and clear content to actually get into it(and see that it's not as big a game as it seems).

Star Trucker gameplay is really halted due to my gaming activities not only in other games but in ETS 2 and ATS.... ATS being the least played but even less is Star Trucker. Again I may need to 'force' myself some time for the game... So many good updates..... Like this and this..... With some major changes on the way.....  https://x.com/StarTruckerGame/status/2045940575401083287?s=20

Star Trek Online is as ever the true perennial. Both PC and Xbox and truth be told on a second PC account and the last few months on another new project...... A Playstation 4....... That's a whole other story.....

MC Stu had a video on how Free to play the game is.... I am in tune with his thoughts on the subject(gifts, etc).

As for my own gameplay, I've had a mix of characters as primary use. From old Jem'Hadar cos-playing as Breen.....

To an old Delta liberated borg going all in on the theme with a new ship via the campaign rewards; And some Lobi spent on the consuming.

As of right now...First Contact Day is in full swing. I've been doing the model daily. Always a fun event I've enjoyed but the reward this year is nice. More a reward for my newer accounts/platform characters. Free is free and not to be sneezed at.

Planet Crafter has seen me end my current new content(2.0 update). So much so I've been revisiting planets and readjusting systems and asset management. Not to mention the currency collection of export systems.

The new graphics make a difference.

As does the quality of life updates, such as the visual depictions of containers.

The updates to exploration wrecks has been interesting to see. The new party rooms are fun and introduce the new elements to add to a players base.

Nice to be finally able to add an actual toilet and shower!

Not to mention usable beds!

I ended up spending a lot of time back on Humble. It had seen the most disruption to my main base location. Given the theme of the robotic terraform company the place is now even mor elittered with Robots and their work. As well as the shelteres in the location being increased in size.
All of which clipped a lot of my own base buildings and machines/setup. 90% of which I have needed to change and relocate.

Some pics of the issues......

The Robotic camp by the 'big' ship was also extended but my little pitstop hut kind of fit in.....

Lot so the random boxes and items/containers were reseeded; So was worth revisiting a lot of areas to reclaim items.

Eve Online, I've not spent a lot of time with the game this last while. Even ignoring the latest event login rewards. In game and out of game sales never mind monthly subbing are as unappealing as ever. If they bring back the yearly sub with mct I'll be there first in line; I'm just not here to dance to their tune. I refuse to jump through their hoops.

Not even my charecters/alts non subbed access to PI can bring me to the game.... That's saying something.

There was interesting news about the creation of a noob area in Eve..... The new 1.0 space.
The rest is now going to be......
0.9-0.5 – Highsec
0.4-0.1 – Lowsec
0.0 and below – Nullsec

It's been hard to keep up with the news as brought to players by you-tubers/streamers etc as there isn't enough hours in the day to catch up never mind tinfoil hat about it all.

Free, is it...... is it really........ Is something really free if I need to buy something else to get it... These incentives are really something else and not in good ways.

As for the 'real' world, swings and roundabouts. Whats that phrase about if your not laughing, your crying.

Like gaming too much to catch up and comment on......

Speaking of music......
In the last six of so months I've gotten to catch up on a bunch of series....
From The Penguin & Andor to The Agency; And I'm a sucker for some good music placement/usage.  Which leads me to sharing this music......  One thing leads to another after all......
