About this time 8 years ago I took my first steps in wow as a level 1 Night Elf Druid. A friend I worked with at the time had been in wow for a while and had always spoken of it. As we were both gamers it was a natural subject as he would insist I join in on it.
Broadband was my problem in starting and as soon as I had upgraded to a "proper" line I got into wow.
Chatting about the games, viewing Thottbot to show me what was what... Fun times.
There may have been some stretches where I wasn't logging in yet had time paid and vise verse but overall it's been a long term "commitment". More than any other game I've played. Eve is getting to be a close second longevity wise.
Pity I'm no longer subscribed to celebrate the occasion in game. I'll be a month or two without it, then get back into it for the expansion, time will tell if it hooks me back in for the long haul.
