More of the same, more or less....
Accursed Farms had an interesting update on the May updates on campaign to stop game destruction.
Should You Play It? Had a good video on Why Everyone Hates Epic Games Store and loves Steam?
The always entertaining Jenny Nicholson on The Spectacular Failure of the Star Wars Hotel; Maybe even more entertaining at 2 times speed. Well worth the long watch.
While I've not watched it yet the recent longplay of Elden Ring from jacksepticeye should be interesting(even when I don't own the game(yet)).
Heading Out has proved to be a bit more surreal than I'd thought it was going to be. In the same way as it being a driving game without the amount of driving I expected; Lots as there is. A very different game all about the journey rather than the destination. No wonder it appealed to me. Not a game of perfect mechanics but all part of it's own character. Not sure it has a lot of re-playability for me but glad to have gotten and played it. It's an immersive game and if you really get into it it'll be even more worth it.
After fully completing the game I 'get it' and again glad to have gotten and enjoyed it. The randomness along with the selected randomness elements add story elements but it's flavour without real gamplay meaning. Yet it adds to the uniqueness of each run. A game that's hampered by the fact I have other games to play....
Euro Truck Sim 2 has received it's most game changing release yet in the 1.50 update, a literal game changer. Again I'll say the devs add so much that I've no problem buying DLC and supporting them.
The update brings with it some map updates and with that a new event.
So I've been doing a lot of driving. The best change is the curbing of fast travel based on your trucks damage level. It's made me be more careful. More than traffic fines or cops ever have! Get more than a few bumps and your halted from fast travel; Either driving to repair or driving to your destination. I like that change so much that I've not dared to check if it can be turned off. Immersion in sims can be such a nuanced and unique personalization. So driving has been done and the event personal goals completed. More to do for the community goals.
Eve Online saw me do the usual with P.I. being adjusted on one of my characters. All to aid my r.l. friend. He's gone all self sufficient in his industry. Apparently I'm a dependable one so I did as he needed as a side project for me. Construction blocks were needed so on a less productive alt I changed his P.I. setup to facilitate making as many construction blocks as possible. Easy to do and with no real changes to my P.I layouts on any of my alts planets. Just re-jiging things and adding advanced facilities to one. That ease was a surprise once I'd started in on it. 2 planets to extract and make Toxic Metals, 2 planets to extract and make Reactive Metals, the 5th planets made up the difference extracting and making more Reactive metals as well as have advanced production facilities to make the end product Construction blocks. Minor tweaking here and there but should be enough to help with his industry. Time will tell. The only problem is that my friend does his industry in hi-sec in and around Jita; Whereas my alt is in and around Dodixie..... Not the furthest of journeys but still a time consuming one.
So all that plus a 300 Million advance for 2 t2 Cranes Ships(soon to be devalued on the markets due to the new incoming ships?) and a bunch of assault frigates(plus others).... I'm invested so it's not all in self interest right? Ships *cough* ships....
That chat error is still happening randomly... I'm sure the devs are on it.....
Star Trek Online has as always been 'same'ol same'ol'. In good ways. Dailies, events, gameplay is gameplay. A game I enjoy 'just' being in.
Xbox more than PC again these days as there's more to tweak into being 'better' on those characters(for now).
The upcoming expansion/updates are all getting praise, which is good to see. The character alteration token is an improvement I've not needed but can see the reasons why players would. From the meta builds to the aesthetics. MC Stu had a good video on What You Need To Know! Free Ship & Lobi Rewards | Delete Alt Control Event | Star Trek Online. Interesting times ahead.
Speaking of which.... With the news that there'll be a reward of a top phoenix token my Breen themed character will get the ship always wanted for him. I never went overboard with the dil to get such a token before but I did try in my free to play way to do as much as I could. So I've mixed feelings at getting it as part of rewards.... I'd already given up on getting it and moved on.
Being a themed Breen, he 'is' a Jem'Hadar under than helmet. As such he's had access to my main Jem'HJadar's unlocked Ship. Even in the basic bug ship he wasn't a slouch. No frills on his ships but at the same time more than capable; In very comfortable ways as I waited to get that Breen Ship.
But the more I tried the more it didn't happen, so I became somewhat resigned to not getting it. Instead choosing to get a ship that was both new/different/not done on a character for me before; While also feeling a little 'special'. Then along came my consideration for the lobi bought Husnnock ship. So I get it. Not an all frills, planned out fit but a 'me' fit with what I have, can get and what works. A fit I'm sure to raise the hackles of even the lightest of meta theorists. Fun is fun.
All that said and with the Breen ship incoming I've had to re-sort that characters inventory; And re-assess what I was going to do and will do on the ship/bridge officers etc.....
