Alien Theory had an update video on the upcoming Alien documentary; Sigourney Weaver is signed up for it. Should be an excellent watch when it's out.
gameranx had a good video on more of the Micrsoft studio layoffs.
Stardew Valley gamplay has been more co-op than my own solo farm; Fun all round.
Planet Crafter is a 'done' game for me. I just can't do any more in it of any meaning to drive gameplay. Portals or not. That and co-op isn't happening there sooooooooo......
Interesting to see the new Star Citizen changes in the latest version vX point 10 million decimal places.
An actual character creation 'mode'. I could go from waffle to rant but to be realistic there's not much I've read that makes me want to interact with this iteration; I'm sure that it will be altered changed, tweaked or replaced...... In the next iteration, version or point release/update. I'll wait till they have a product instead of an R&D test bed. I'm not bitter.... Just constantly disappointed.
To quote "Star Citizen raised $104 million in 2023, total of $644 million in crowdfunding."; What game would you expect after all that?
Is Eye tracking really the way forward for the whole playerbase?
Over the last 5 years alone I've had more fun playing Freespace and Freespace 2 via GoG than anything in Star Citizen. 'Heck' Rebel Galaxy Outlaw has been developed launched and been out for years and was a blast to play!
There was an old 'character creator?
Star Citizen may talk about their expectations but gamers expectations have been on a rollercoaster to say the least. One of my fist posts about it seems like a world away, naive?
Worth a watch is Accursed Farms with another update on the ongoing journey of game(s) and gamers rights to own/use......
Heading Out has released and the initial reviews all seem to be good. I've purchased it with it's launch sale price. A game that's been on my wishlist for a few years. So I'll be happy to get into it properly once I can claim some time from this real life lark. Other games do tend to take up time.
Another Crab's Treasure is a game I've been pottering about with on Xbox via gamepass. Not much but a dabble here and there, fun if a bit harsh on some combat levels. Maybe even a game that's by gateway drug to playing Elden Ring...... Time will tell......
Fallout New Vegas is a game at least in my mind that's too akin to Fallout 3(looks/feel) and not Fallout 4; That going from Fallout 4 to it seems 'wrong'. I guess I've been spoiled by Fallout 4; Maybe too used to it that going to New Vegas from it is too much of an immediate downgrade. Not a nuanced explainer but the best gut, quick take I can give. So gameplay went up and then faded away.... More gameplay to come?
After some faffing about, I did take a look at some of the new stations for No Mans Sky. It's a big improvement. A lot more natural in feel than the cookie cutter, cut and paste of the past of the old versions. Good to see but not in a bring me back to stay kind of way. While not interested to play I'm hesitant to remove the game. The cycle continues. I've waffled about it for years on this blog. Uninstall solves all quandaries? Yea back to that old question again.
Star Trek Online is as always a stable daily on both PC and Xbox. The more things change the more they stay the same. Daily event run and daily endeavors. Fun for fun's sake rather than any kind of all out charge to complete etc. That and seeing whats recommended by you-tubers and seeing what I can work in on my characters without too much fuss. What works works(for me).
I was surprised to see that right clicking on Phoenix prize tokens and clicking use allows you to spend them.... I really thought that was only possible during the prize event and the vendor was there to offer the service.... I've wasted time in the past waiting for such events...... When all I needed to do was right click and use.... Not really an event in my mind now, and that kind of feel bad in a less special way...
For the most recent KDF recruits on both platforms It's the Xbox version that's ahead for once.
Xbox
PC
