Astroneer....

Astroneer....

Well the big day is here, the official 1.0 release hit today. I got a 1.5GB download on steam to update my version. I've not been back to Astroneer in a good long while. From what I've seen on the youtubes it looks vastly different(improved) from when I was in it last. The patch notes are (always) interesting, key world of the day is: NEW.

While I may not get time to immediately dive into the game I've got it ready(patches permitting) to go, soon™.

Two Point Hospital....

Nice to see the Interior Design update out now. I'm no dab hand at designing stuff but it'll be interesting to see what the community does!

Star Trek Online....

One more daily tomorrow and the 9th Anniversary event ship is mine. Then I complain about how it'll never be used outside of the admiralty system. Not a bad thing, admiralty ships are welcome, besides the Summer event ship ( the Xyfius Heavy Escort ) of a few years ago is a hard one to beat.

Hitman 2....

Speaking of Hitman 2, I've been pottering away.

Hitman 2....

I'm definitely not taking to Hitman 2 as I did to the later release of the first game. I got into the first game about a year into it's release. Everything was for the most part out already. The fact that Hitman 2 is getting escalations etc patched in over time peeves me off. I already vented about that before but it really is a pain to try and work through the area's and see the % of completions not reach the 100% and even if they do they add in something to much it up. H2 was supposed to be a "full" release.

All that said the Feb roadmap is of interest for the elusive targets if nothing else. May I should have waited a year to get this game as well.

Eve Online....

What could possibly go wrong....

Planetside 2 Arena....

While a blatant cash in moment it's interesting to see the Planetside 2 (can I call is PS2) assets used in a newer style of game. I never got into Planetside 2(saying PS 2 just feels weird, Sony weird). Entering vast battlefields as fresh meat I was easy pickings. A true clueless noob. The newer Planetside Arena version may be a catalyst to get people into the universe and the "larger" game. Not to mention kickstart it's overall development or perhaps re-engineering(nudge nudge wink wink). I may have not gotten into PS2 (meh), but it's overall theme and idea rang loud with me. It's why I'd like to see it broaden it's support. It's still a thing and that's even with Warframe around(**shakes fist at CCP for their Shenanigans**).

Could..... Could Planetside Arena fill the Dust 514 rift in my soul..???..

LevelCapGaming has an interesting Beta Impressions video:

Battletech....

Updates, updates everywhere. Battletech got a nice update that fixed a personal peeve I had, the splash screen delay.

BATTLETECH 1.4.0 adds in UI, text and other fixes and changes making things a lot smoother.

Planet Coaster....

A while ago I chose to leave Planet Coaster. It's a game I was getting too hung up on by it's minutia. I really don't need to angle items by 1 degree. It can be perfectionist hell. In that regard one thing leads to another and then next you know you've just spent 5 hours on a single walkway in your park by angling individual items x1000. I backed away slowly from it. I recognized the peril.
I forgot it was still installed until I saw a Steam update for it. Update 1.10.1 Nice to see the updates, quality of life changes and fixes. It's a great game if you can handle it. Uninstalled.

Euro Truck Simulator 2....

I've slightly fallen off the truck with ETS2. Keeping an eye on any updates pushed out over Steam. But not seeing any since Chrimbo, and then remembering that the winter event had a long end date made me curious. I took a nose back into the game. The news page had an interesting wrap up of the event. Full details here: Conclusion of Christmas event.

Eve Online....

While I've still be pottering about on and off with my lesser Alpha accounts, I do more keeping an ear to the ground on Eve related news. Nice to see the launcher will be revamped and the "Remember me" feature will be making a return. Full details here.

Games with Gold....

February's Games with Gold isn't showing me games I'm interested in. Each to their own. Nice to get them, nice to add to the collection. "But"
Another Assassins Creed game I'll not play.
Bomberman will be fun for a few minutes but I'm doubtful I'll get into it.
Bloodstained might be interesting but then again I've had my fill of platformers.
The cross month game WRC 6 World really is a good game but I've never been really into rally games. I spent about 15 minutes in it. Nice to visit not to stay with.
The other game for the month Jedi Academy, will be a good nostalgia trip. I've played both Jedi Knight games back in the day on PC. Nostalgia aside I think the academy game will be 5 minutes of nostalgia, 5 minutes of "was this what it was like" and then walk away.

Battlefield 1....

I think I've done one too many video's of my BF1 recorded game-play. So in order to move on I'll leave one last video, a mash up, here.

Editing it with the music(Destructoid - MK2 [Free Download No Copyright]) was a last minute thing. I'm not 100% happy with but it works and the video needs it. I'll still be playing the game, just not heaving great chunks of what I do onto the youtubes. I might try a few other games as a series instead.......

BF 1....

The latest cheater encounter is extra funny as his side lost, he was of no help whatsoever. But as was said in the chat at the end, maybe he cheats because he can't play. Makes me wonder why cheaters even bother....

STO...

Another 8 day's of dailies to get the 9th Anniversary ship.

This new ship being a science ship, it'll be an admiralty ship for all but my single science character. Which had me thinking that I don't think I've ever used her as a healer in groups. I have to change that at some stage. Must learn to be healer..... Must learn to be healer..... Uhhhhh next shiny ship.....

The rewards for doing the daily isn't all about the vouchers. There are other rewards to choose from, emotes, dilithium, a box of random items and of course the party (balloon) horn.

Hitman 2....

I spent some time yesterday doing a successful (normal)run and scout of the Isle of Sgail. The location of the third Elusive Target. The map/mission is three locations ahead of where I am my own play-through; So I didn't pay much attention to the details of the overall story. I did get used to the layout somewhat. Enough to unlock a few items as well as the Chapel and Reception start area's. The Chapel start is needed for this ET take-down. The best I could see online.

When I did it, it wasn't a flawless run but it all worked out.

Another Target down.

I got some more map unlocks as well as the two suits for the Elusive Target.

Back to the normal play-through......

STO....

With little effort, bar a decimation of my main's reputation marks (and dilithium) I was able to get the account wide unlock for each reputation. A lot more simple than I thought it would be.

I also got to buy the vanity shield from each faction. Not a great investment in retrospect. Settling on the New Romulus Reman vanity shield for his active ship.

Getting him into a fleet for fleet ship/module benefits is a very real option now.

BF 1....

I know I drone on about the balance of matches; But it's been getting worse. The latest map rotation has been like a magnet to large groups, very large co-ordinates groups that cover a lot of tactics. Some matches you can't move an inch without getting shot from 6 different directions. Air, sea, infantry and armour, sometimes all a the same time. It's hard to not think of being a Swiss cheese target dummy.

It's not been all bad. Thankfully there's been few hacked cheaters; And some matches were fair enough to GG but they have been few and far between.
