Sociable Soccer first caught my eye a few years ago(I've waffled a lot about it in passing). It was plagued by development woes but had a lot going for it in gameplay and nostalgia. It was on Steam 'Greenlight', then it was in a Beta state; Then it left the PC platform altogether. A game that went full apple store. Curiosity made me check on the state of the game today; And it seems that it's coming back, new and improved for PC, again.
There was a tweet that linked a 'dev' blog about it's future. The tweet set the game release in Q2 2022; The Blog post set it as Q4 2022. Typo's happen but it's not a good look. More-so now as it still hasn't been corrected/retweeted(it was posted in Nov 2021).
That's a small thing to pick up on but it's one that could have been avoided or fixed... Just makes me wonder what other small or large 'things' are going to be overlooked, unchanged....
Maybe I'm being too cynical. As much help and money is being given the 'dev' it's still a one-man-band-esque 'team'.... Yet Apple seems to have given the time and money for the game to actually make it. On Apple it seems to be well in hand. Almost makes me optimistic.
Anyway all said and done the game looks like it's set to be a real thing. Properly on Steam, Playstation, Xbox and Switch. I do hope it's worth the wait. I hope it proves to be the fast casual arcadey, easy to pick up button mashing fun I want it to be. Time will tell.
