First things first, game-ish news that I found interesting this last week.
Onto the games.......
Star Trek Online....
Progress is as ever, same'ol, same'ol(same for my wife). There's fun in that otherwise why would I(we) play it at all. The event ended and then I did the last event daily as well as the first of the bonus Dil runs on my main. Claiming the new set to go on his Tholian ship(Meshweaver).
Testing the ship and fit further with the new items was interesting if situational. DPS is good. It's also good to get the new set dropping crystals from dead enemies to buff my shields(when collected/flown through) or use them as seeker objects to dps when activating the cooldown(or at least it seems so). So yea situational. Not that I really know much about each sets effects even now.... I've not done 'research'.... They do what they do and I'm ok with the setup/DPS on a practical level rather than getting bent over the theoretical. I'll keep it as is, it does good DPS after all and I'll not turn my nose up at that. All said I'll still not be aiming alts at the set.... Thematic is thematic and this one is done.
I've continued my main doing Dil runs with the event but not on the web ship, I've already swapped him out to his current 'best' ship. It's nice to be so OP compared to what I've been flying on alts(capable as they are). I've still alt hopped a bit for better refining options.
All else has been event/Dil and endevour runs; for the most part on my 'latest' KDF recruit 'as usual'... Mostly(pun).
A lot of players don't get the slow and steady nature of STO.... They're all 'immediate' gratification. Surprise surprise. No surprise to see players in the event TFO pilot an expensive shiny ship only to crash and burn(not defeat enemies/blow up themselves(again) and not know what any tactics are even when told). Yet again I complain about 'those' players. The amount of gear/buffs/bonuses and event 'stuff' I've accumulated for my account without spending a cent, yea yea I'll shĂșt up(o.k. I did buy the lifetme sub years ago... but that makes sense right).
A friend who played STO liked the ship combat but said it was not challenging enough... I tried to explain the changing of difficulties to him but it's like the idea didn't sink in.... I don't want to push the idea too hard and have him avoid the game! I can't win either way I guess.
All in all the more things change the more they stay the same....
Drozana is still party/dance central.... Or in this case, aerobics central. It's an entertaining place to see what players get up to in their down time.
The news of the upcoming phase of the event campaign and the reward officer is interesting. My goto sci bridge officer for ships has been Bashir but I've been seriously reconsidering given the Beverly reward details. I may stick with Bashir but the new Device (Fleet Flagship Distress Frequency) is gonna be really nice to have. "Flagship of your faction when you activate Fleet Support". I may not use it very often but when it's needed it'll be a nice extra to have.
June 8th will also see the return of the Temporal agents again. Given the last time I created another alt I doubt I'll create yet another one this time round. I'll take my time to look at getting any reworked/updated transponder items on the older agents; while holding my wad for the next KDF recruit event.... More for Xbox than PC but still, but still both.
Eve Online....
The bulk of promotional material from CCP is of no interest to me. There are some 'cool' things but for the most part it's all meh(to me). So you can imagine(or read this blog) what I think of fanfest.
The internal CCP Band(iterations) can be of entertainment; But the bulk of the gung-ho, ra-ra-ra back slaping views from CCP about the player base and what CCP thinks 'connects', yea not for me. Belonging: An EVE Fanfest Documentary, Bla.... Bla.... Blaaaaaaa.....
Fanfest.... Whatever. If your into it then good for you; I'm not a CCP neophyte and not just gonna gush Eve is the greatest just because. I guess I'm too cynical. Too much of a burned bitter veteran in game and out. Said that before and I'll say it again(again see blog).
So a new decade starts and with it CCP does a Collectors edition. I was surprised at that given the previous 'experiance'. I won't be spending 174.99 Dollars on that never mind x2.
11 redacted items are listed in it..... https://merch.eve.com/ Anyone? I'd say a lot is going to be current merch stock....
If it happens to be a mystery code like object ... I'll flip.... More than usual anyway... Internally at least as it would be a final literal FK U to players who got the second decade Collectors edition.
I've no faith in CCP so my cynicism is massive.... On one end of the scale I'm thinking that previous collectors edition payers/players get at least a 10% discount on the new edition. How likely do I think that is.... Not a snowball chance of happening! CCP part with a cent, crazy talk. On the other end; Holders of the previous collectors edition do not get a look in and the bulk of items ARE a massive giveaway of USEFULL in game items designed around LONGTERM usefulness. Well I'd say what chance but I'll just direct you to the old collectors edition.
As I said I'm a bitter veteran in and out of game. I have reson to be. I do not put anything past CCP when it comes to 'rewarding' players with CCP profit milking in their mind.... Or broken promises....
Did I ever mention the second decade mystery code...... Yea I'm bitter to the end.
Decade here, decade there, what do I know....
"This is just the beginning of what the Mystery Code will unlock. In the future, whenever we have big things happening—not just across the EVE Universe but across all CCP games—you will find a Mystery Code element to enjoy.
There’s much more planned we can’t discuss right now, but you can rest assured that as we continue our journey into the Second Decade with you, the Mystery Code will be your perfect traveling companion."

I can't wait!
Enough waffle. Gameplay has seen many alts, many many alts collect, sort, shuffle and file assets/ships/fits and PI from planet to planet and region to region etc etc etc.... My niche gameplay in the sandbox is my niche.... With the end of certain Omega times more accounts are back to being mothballed. My main main is oddly still active even when I expected Alpha. I've no idea why he get two weeks more than the other account when they both paid for a month but CCP will work it out. I'm sure. I'll just take more screenshots of SP to make sure it's ok/benefits my character.
While I've not payed to play again I've got access to my wife's account (under my battle.net account); So I'm not devoid of WoW. Or access to claim account wide items... Which I've helped with, a bit.
She is so much more into the expansion than I was. So much more...
Changing up and refining characters outfits is help right? Changing a goblin to the jester outfit and added the treasure chest backpack seems to work.... Hilarious when the character is on a turtle mount.
I've turned into her characters stylist!!!!
With the new items on the trading post(still bitter about the lost tendees); The mount of the month suited her red themed hunter(yea I did that a long time ago as well) which I've yet to level past 41.... He's kind of mine to level.... Maybe I should play the game!
That new mount as well as the cloak options do look good on him.
Also tempted by the flaming horns..... So many jokes so little time.... Belf is a belf. /dance
XCOM 2....
After a sale and buying the missing extras I'm still not into the game.
For the first time as well the game is looking 'old' and not in a good way. A friend had said that the War of the Chosen changes and makes the game more playable. I don't blame him but I'm still not feeling it. I'm still very pro the Enemy Unknown version of the first game; And even Chimera a whole lot more! Then again that friend does not like Chimera a bit.
It's still installed so maybe there's hope yet for Xcom 2.
PowerWash Simulator....
Progress, progress, progress. With the game achi's fixed I'm happy to plough on, even at my slower pace.
I really have been taking my time with the newer maps and it's wasn't just because of the achi problems. That may have been how it started but I've really been pacing myself... Less rush more enjoyment.
The Subway station is by far the greatest show of this so far. Clean an item and logoff.... Nearly unheard but its happening. I Guess the second time round this game is better(I've not gone back to the Xbox version, Steam from here on out)....
Darkest Dungeon....
I spoke too soon. The RNG gods have not been smiling on me the last week. Bad luck has been the order of the days. Progress this last week has been in the form of not going backwards. I'll still take that! There could have been worse losses.
There's still been some good. The odd bright moment.
And the odd spawn of less than normal enemies. The fight goes on.
In looking through some youtube 'stuff' I'd forgotten to post the run/takedown of the Gibbering Prophet; May as well add it in here....
Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun....
A game so simple in concept there's a lot to consider.
Still not a lover of the Plasma gun.... I much prefer the Heavy Bolter.
However all in all; It seems I've hit a brick bulkhead face first in the Forbidden Knowledge level. It's kicking my smurf power armour hard; And I'm not even on a bad difficulty level..... Try try, try again....
Gaming is gaming, more to follow....
