Xbox....
Microsoft seems to be doing more PR since the leaks but that's prob co-incidence(usual stuff) rather than being a consequence.
The leak details, even if out of date a bit, make me 'concerned' for one potential change. The disc-less Xbox Series X 'upgrade'. Backward compatibility is a key part of the Xbox and if they take that away, well, it's a consideration that will hamper future Xbox. Never mind those of a retro nature. To future proof myself in a year or so I'll be getting a square Xbox Series X(and maybe not much more after that). No more console hardware?
Planet Crafter....
With
the news last week that the next expansion is just around the corner;
I've not done much in the game. When I have I've been doing the usual
pottering with the export and drone systems.
Darkest Dungeon....
Same 'ol same 'ol.... No 'real' progress other than asset hording and fodder expenditure. I've been trying to build up resources to fully upgrade the top tiers of my 'hero' roster; But not doing much means not much has gotten done.....
Tiny Combat Arena....
It's been a while since checking out the game; But this latest update is one of the best yet. All work-in-progress and each improvement builds it up. The look and feel of the game is so much better now than when I got it first. It's good to play and acts like a sim now, an accessible sim.
Eve Online....
Yea I'm gonna overthink and rant waffle a bit.
Fanfest has come and gone. News from the event of the upcoming 'expansion' as well as the rest of the year ahead are receiving applause. To be kind I think I'm now far too detached from CCP and their product hype to be anything other than sarcastic. I've never been into the jubilant back slapping of the event at the best of times. A captive paying audience isn't subjective never mind more easy to please. They are their own hype. For the most part. Not that players there can't have joy and revel but to me a lot of it from CCP comes off as fake. It is what it is but I'll not rely on the overzealous for their objectivity; Most of the time. Anyway just because the new thing is announced does not mean it's 'good'. CCP kind of have a track record of chopping and changing at their own whims(money). I may not find any unicorn with CCP but I do have my own mystery whale to hunt.
All that said, I still see CCP are trying so hard to get the crowd they want but can't see how to do so despite themselves. Or despite whatever vision they are pushing. They know what the fans want of course. At least I have the belief that CCP has the intelligence as a company overall to be "you know" intelligent; That it's not all just happenstance, fly by the seat of pants lark. In truth it's probably both with the happenstance being short-term money making game mechanic(changes) creation. Am I offering them too much credit? Not enough? I'm a player but I'm not the playerbase. As a company with profit on the mind you'd think they would have a more broad appeal in their ideas. Time as ever will tell.
So I guess I was right in my preempting of what the redacted presentation would be, all eve related but nothing too amazballs or out there. The new news is on the Eve expansion on the 14th of Nov and the reincarnation (5th time? I've lost count) of an Eve first person shooter. Emphasis on the connected to 'Eve' line(again). Again I've lost all faith in CCP to deliver on anything with any meaning. So this next version of the FPS is indeed wait and see. Like so much else. "But" in the small clip at the end of the trailer I have 2 negatives about the FPS, the Heads up Display layout (too arcadey?) and the animation of the weapon swinging up(it does not 'feel' good. It needs to feel like it's a weapon up close to the players eye.... Not a chest weapon. The sounds are good tho.... Guess they can never please me. The FPS can look as pretty as it wants but if a few devs can bring Battlebit Remastered to gameplay life CCP can? Right? They've done it before riiiiiiight? Early days and I'm overthinking it.
As for gamplay in Eve Online I randomly too late one night watched an Eve stream VOD which made me want to check a Domi fit. Logging in who do I see also logged in but a real life friend. AFK of course and of course he was auto jumping a hauler(silly boi). Anyway this started an in game mail chain over a few days, leading to trying to organize some mutual content. Which should be good.... With a 12 ish hour difference it can be challenging....
Star Trek Online....
My gameplay in STO, mainly on Xbox, has been a complete mashup of timelines regarding my recruits and their transponders. Doing the same content over multiple characters it's no wonder I was getting confused. But I'm getting there.
I've been enjoying my KDF recruit, spending time and allowing some TLC to the character, his ships and loadouts. As well as getting the bulk of the transponder unlocks completed.
The event campaign completed for me and I chose to take the 2 T6 tokens as a reward. So took the plunge on using one of those for that KDF recruit. Not an ideal loadout but it's the best of a situational lot. For fun as much as getting the two remaining transponder unlocks.
So getting there, slowly but surely.
The Delta recruits also got a lot of mission crossover done mainly the Romulan Mystery episode missions.
With a new ship I setup it up as well on my Delta Klingon(just to be thematic). Better than what she had but again a lesser fit than even the KDF recruit Klingon has. Does the job....
My Gamma recruit has finally and fully done the duty officer portion of his transponder(completing it all).
Dave the Diver....
If I've spent a lot of time in Star Trek Online than Dave the Diver has monopolized my time.
In keeping track of the weeks journey I usually take screenshots and I did this last week; But with over 500 screenshots I think I have to whittle that down..... I've done a lot in game and progressed far. Still taking my time with it all. In cutting the images done I've gone from 500 to 60-ish. In game I've really done a lot! I've upgraded, added, mini gamed, progressed main story and fought bosses. As this is the end of the blog post maybe I can add a few more pics...... What harm.....
