A long time ago, not so long ago....

Another week in gaming but first....

A long time ago in the late 2000's I recall hearing music used by a Youtuber for his Warcraft PvP info/tutorials. Ahhh yeaaaa, WoW back in the day! PvP videos from Evertras entitled I suck at PvP. How about that for a real blast from the past. If you know you know.
His videos have since needed to be re-uploaded by other people but here is the one I was thinking of. That music is from a group of artists I'd not heard as a collective group before that. If I had, it hadn't clicked with me. Afro Celt Sound System
Like most music I am rarely a fan of everything that a band/ground puts out... All that said I do recall a few good tracks from them which I liked. Ways like that are the best in finding new(to me) music. Happenstance and coincidence; At least for me. I get surprised, introduced and reminded by a lot of music that way. Like watching the Eurovision(on +1 with the ability to fast forward, I'm not that far gone). ;-p
On that note and with the passing of Sinéad O'Connor(not my favorite 'artist')and the usual torrent of content due to their passing(like when any artist/actor etc); But I was surprised that one track from Afro Celt where she sang as a disembodied voice...... Seemed like such an apt song to be replayed. But of all the songs replayed over and over this did not get a look in... Then again listeners and their populist choices. Anyway this is the track:

[Sinéad O'Connor:]

Don't argue amongst yourselves
Because of the loss of me
I'm sitting amongst yourselves
Don't think you can't see me

Don't argue amongst yourselves
Because of the loss of me
I haven't gone anywhere
But out of my body

Reach out and you'll touch me
Make effort to speak to me
Call out and you'll hear me
Be happy for me

[Iarla Ó Lionáird:]

Ag trasna an linn
Ag feachaint síos tríd
Níl aon iarann i mo chroí inniu

Ag oscail an síol
Ag feitheamh an scéal
Níl aon airgead i mo phóca innui
I mo phóca innui
I mo phóca innui

Xbox....

Overall my game time on Xbox has mainly been in Star Trek Online; More on that and STO on PC later. Other than those games I've been pottering about with(but only a little bit) have been Tetris Connected, Battlefield 1 multiplayer. But with so little time spent on them never mind anything else they're not even worth the mention......

Console gaming is console gaming.

Trucking....

Euro Truck Sim 2 has been showing off a lot more graphical updates for the forthcoming(soon) West Balkans DLC. Which is all looking good. But with that news was also some of the only real Xbox trucking alternative(I've mentioned before), Truck Driver The American Dream is out. Talk about a vacuum being filled. The sooner the better for all trucking sim fans that SCS gets a version of their games on console. Nothing against Truck Driver, as I said a vacuum gets filled; But it's the lesser choice and not really a sim. A YouTuber GametechUK does a good take on what Truck Driver is: Truck Driver: The American Dream - DEAD ON ARRIVAL?

Besides Sims from SCS the alternative "trucking" sim I'm looking forward to is Star Trucker.

Given my liking for Rebel Galaxy Outlaw that's no wonder(fist post / all posts).

Fights in Tight Spaces....

With the Weapon of Choice DLC and 1.2 Update, I've been back into the game. The gun-fu is now real for the player and it works well from what I've played.

Stardew Valley....

A recent tweet gave information on the upcoming 1.6 update for the game.

I've not played the game in a while never mind blog about it; As I was pretty much 'done' with most of the content. However this new update to the game should see me back to it when it's released. I guess I need to reacquaint myself with the world there again.

Palia.....

As much as I'm into what the game has to offer neither my wife nor myself have been back to the game.
We did talk about getting back for some co-op but I've since uninstalled it. Not the games fault we were just not 'feeling' it. Maybe if there were no other game distractions......

Darkest Dungeon....

Not much gameplay here outside of the last few weeks 'norm'. Dungeons to gather gold, XP, trinkets and allow turns to pass.

That said it does feel like it's almost time to tackle the last form of the Darkest Dungeon itself.

Eve Online....

With one thing and another I've not been back into the game.

The Eve info I'm seeing is all tangential snippets that do not strike me as being of further interest. Be it in game lore, action, out of game tech or player/dev tweets..... There does seem to he a lot of waffle, with content and hot takes. Says the guy waffling on a blog!
All that said one tweet was of interest, the newly 'elected' CSM members, one of which is a reelected Mike. A man of good standing among the gerrymandering hordes. Yea waffle aside I'm just glad he was chosen.

And another 'item' was about the The Escapist documentary The Making of EVE Online. I've not watched it yet. Game apathy I suppose?

Star Trek Online....

Another week where I've been doing more on the console than on PC.

On PC I've been doing dailies/events but not really much, not even time wise.
I did have a character refining the extra Dil in Starfleet Academy when I noticed and think that it's the only location that a character can stand in one place and have access/use all three of the 'services'. Bank, Exchange and Mail. His new home!

Always time for a few screenshots.

The Xbox version has taken the bulk of my STO time. My KDF recruit character is still plugging away with the random TFO's and as many declaked ambush kills as he can to up the transponders needs. Part of which was also to do 15 TFO's against the Romulans. Thankfully done and another checked off the list.

25 down another 125 to go. This may take some time.

The worst part of doing the Romulan task was the timings. The cooldown on redoing the TFO was a pain to wait for never mind time it took to get into the TFO. Best done at the peek times, like 5 to 7 PM UTC.

Events have still come, gone and 'are'. It may be habit to play and do the event daily but it's generally not that bad as a 'task'. At least for me it's a fun game to 'just' be in. Besides every little bit extra no matter the reward, is of use and worth it(unlike other games).

There's even progress by coincidence with the Xbox endeavors!

Dave the Diver....

Nearing the end game now. At least of the story. Currently in the post 3rd switch and at the door of the control room. So I've been doing a lot in the story line as well as 'just' playing the game. Running the business, farms and staff...

Fun had and progression made. Enough waffle and time for a cascade of screenshots.
