wafflin'd'waffle....

As a man who owes me construction of 4 Cranes in Eve Online recently said, "better late than never". So to this post.... But unlike you reading this, I've still not gotten any ships....Post better late than never...

TheOdd1sOut has an entertaining video out on playing Fortnite: My First 100 Games of Fortnite

Xbox increasing Game Pass prices for new subs was in the news.

Given that I'm not affected and stay at the same price of sub.... I'm kinda ok with that.... Selfish I know.

Xbox 360 stores will close on July 29; I've unpacked my old console and gone through games, downloads and updates etc... rip

CELEBRATING 4 YEARS OF DEATH STRANDING ON PC, Is an interesting post. 17.3 Billion likes. I'm due a visit back.

World of Warcraft's pre expansion patch is fast approaching. So I've been keeping an eye/ear out for 'news'. I'm not planning to get the expansion(tho my wife and a rl friend are). If noting else I've a bit more interest to run alts through the pre patch content.... Time will tell, as my sub enters it's last week.
Speaking of WoW, wowcrendor had an interesting video on You Can't Go Back (World of Warcraft)

TheYamiks did a video on ULTIMATE SPACE SIMULATOR TIER LIST - Best and worst space ship games ranked! Not a true non partisan view but his take on the genre; That said I have enjoyed a lot of whats been in the list, back in the day..... Wing  Commander III/IV/Prophecy.... Priv 2, Freespace, Freespace 2 and on to the more recent Rebel Galaxy Outlaw.... etc. etc. etc. Games I've waffled about on this blog over the years. Star Citizen, No Mans Sky and Starfield etc etc....

I'd say I've found fun in both Bo Burnham's Inside and his THE INSIDE OUTTAKES; But two of his songs brought me to two interesting reaction videos.... As the internet rabbit hole does.....

Guitar Teacher REACTS: All Eyes On Me -- Bo Burnham LIVE 4K

Michael Palmisano's guitar channel is of interest in it's own right.... Like his reaction to Radiohead(here and here and here). At over 600 reaction vids he's got content..

On reactions I came across MarcoMeatball and his reactions and game music vids: Can YOU Guess The Game From the Music?

Darkest Dungeon has finally ended for me. 3 difficulties are over, main campaign and expansions from difficult frustration to cheesing fun; I can now say that I've finished the game(my way). Not a completionist but most definitely an obsessive compulsive need to do it. It's been years of fun had. A constant to dive into for a dungeon or a campaign. My complaining about not getting any invites when last I blogged proved me wrong straight away as in the next dungeon I got 1 and in the next after that I got 7. Well tickle me pink! Game on!!

After clearing though the next few in game weeks to clean/fix/rest the roster of 'problems' I cleared up the remaining Crimson Court Boss Dungeon(the Countess). I'd planned to take a group of a
Vestal - Jester - Man-At-Arms - Flagellant into 'do it'; But a wrong turn and a miss-click saw me fighting the boss with the crew I'd not intended after they'd just been through the mill of the dungeons final clearing. Yet it was possible and it was done! Another game I've waffled about on this blog over the years.

In some ways it was a little anticlimactic! With everything essentially done I went back to kill the Garden Guardian to say I had..... No need to grind to gain the remaining trinkets as it's all been done this run.... Not even another Campaign to do.... It's all 'done'....

No Mans Sky keeps improving and the most recent update/patch/expansion has me really thinking about it..... Not that I ever really stopped, even after talking my self out of redoing anything in the game again... Tribute to the constant that the game is with it's updates etc....

Eve Online, is ongoing. Far too much time in just it's doing. Even with alts. As I said at the top, yea I'm still due the ships I'm due and they are in the process. The last expansion shifted my friends production chains and he needed to readjust... As well as some unforeseen circumstances like loosing BPO's and stuff in a player run station in lowsec. Shiz happens.

While I'm not fully convinced of Bucklin Fondue's content( bit too formulaic even for a returning player, in a way at least to me he seems to know more than he's pretending) he does have some interesting points and perspectives. Surviving the Struggles of Joining a Corp in EVE Online

With the FPS I can't fault it's visual, it does look good and with plenty of potential. It's just everything else around it I've massive doubts and problems/issues with. The Directors letter didn't alleviate any of what I thought. https://www.eveonline.com/news/view/directors-letter
As for the Eve Online portions, as ever, my play-style looked at most as 'meh'; doesn't, help, hurt or hinder me.

The promo stuff for Vanguard makes me cringe and eye-roll. I've seen too much be burnt, reversed or ignored by CCP to have any form of interest never mind hype.

Yea I'm still way bitter about the Mystery Code... My blog posts say it all from my perspective and my perspective.... Etc....

Eve, Eve, Eve, of course I've been playing it. The more I play the more I have in the back of my head how much better if CCP had kept their Mystery Code promise the better I'd be enjoying it.....

"This is just the beginning of what the Mystery Code will unlock.  In the future, whenever we have big things happening—not just across the EVE Universe but across all CCP games—you will find a Mystery Code element to enjoy.
There’s much more planned we can’t discuss right now, but you can rest assured that as we continue our journey into the Second Decade with you, the Mystery Code will be your perfect traveling companion."

Anyway.

Eve has been the usual. Mainly solo industry, PvE and ship spinning. I've been enjoying things.....

After doing a few bits on an alt I'd inadvertent completed a lot of the daily stuff. Which is actually nice to see.  Actual rewards that make sense but only need your own actions which you'd be doing anyway. As long as players don't get trapped in doing things for the systems lists rather than the system rewarding them for their own actions... It's a good implementation.... I'm so cynical I'm just waiting for the other boot to drop. That all said the younger the character the better the rewards will seem to them.

Star Trek Online is like Eve in it's ability for me to have it as a daily do(time sink). But unlike Eve it's on both PC and Xbox. Events ongoing if nearing the later part of things no matter the platform. Always something. F.O.M.O. is real but in a way that is free now and don't pay later. Rewards still claimed etc etc. On Xbox that means more newer character tidy up than any on PC. With reputations, admiralty, R&D ......I guess it's what MMO's do best even if played solo than in STO....
Phoenix Prize pack event July 25th to Aug 1st.... I will click and collect....

The next event's reward should be interesting.

MC Stu spoke about it and the coming event. Event 4 Announced | Campaign 2024

I'd seen but was not into decoding the social media messages...CasualSAB spoke about it and more.

On PC my next alt is probably going to be a Terran based officer. As that 'faction' inst' in game it'll be a Fed officer cosplaying as a Terran. 90% probably a sci character as I've had it in my head a long time to have such a character use the mirror equinox and use it as an underdog. Things a player does eh..... Problem in doing it is that I need more character slots lol
