A busy week and a busy weekend with one thing and another. Never mind being a bank holiday weekend and all that that entails one way or another. There was gaming but not too much gaming(perspective?)
For the day that's in it....
OĆche Shamhna Shona Daoibh! Happy Halloween!
Fallout is getting a 'TV' show with an air date of 4.12.24. American dates so it'll be the 13th of April next year. It's all wait and see I guess....
Power Wash Simulator is getting the Back to the Future DLC on Nov 16th. I'm looking forward to it.
Asterox Imperium is a game that by one mans hand(Jace Masula)
has been working towards being an Eve Offline single players game. There's a lot to it and a lot to be done. While I've followed the dev updates and patch notes for years I bought the game(and it's mining predecessor a while ago) to 'be' more in contact with it. A sale is also a sale in that regard. However during the week I got to see a youtuber I follow and who also follows the game and it's updates. As he said the game may never be 'done' and it is uniquely only for certain people. I feel it's a game and updates are worthy of mention.
Star Citizen. Once again for all the hype I see in 'fans' it's questionable to me. Maybe I'm getting more and more cynical but not for no reason. After all the time the game has been 'in development', "they" are 'so' into it, no questions asked. Like Starfield(yea I'm not a fan of it). I didn't watch much of the Citizen Con but it all seemed the same to me, big ideas and pretty show but not much to the show that's delivered. Squadron 42 may be feature complete but that's not a product to be 'out'. That said fans did get hands on gameplay, but even there I'm skeptical as a demo in a convention is not a game in the real world. How many demos or tech tests have been done for how many games only to land face down on 'release'. The more I'm a gamer the more I'm untrusting of development promises. Star Citizen is the more egregious. It has a lot to deliver and are on a shorter time frame then they were. Even without saying a 'release' date for Squadron 42 it's 'feature complete'. Fans will be 'expecting' it sooner rather than later. If the 'release slips' then slips again it's sale'ol same'ol and the player base never mind onlookers will go to town on them never being able to deliver anything.
Speaking of Star Citizen and Starfield TheYamiks had a good entertaining video on that subject...
Also worth a look from him is this one:
Planet Crafter....
Post consumption of all the latest content has left me back into a holding pattern in gameplay. Specifically the export/trade and accumulation of wealth. The patch decimated my 400k down to 30k or so. Many fuses were purchased for the new tech boosters.
Exporting has been slightly tweaked again. It's an ongoing process of processes. Fun in it's own right.
Dave the Diver....
Diving is back on the menu! At least for a little while this last week. Speaking of games in a holding pattern. While I'm far from the heights of playing a lot of it a lot of the time, I was back to finish up some aspects of the game. Fishing, breeding them, farming the veg/chicken eggs etc; Enhance dishes and most importantly get the diamond Cooksta rating.
Dare I say the game is 'done, done'!! I've not played much since the narrative end. Running the sushi bar is interesting but it's lead to a lot of skipped time instead of diving or 'doing'. Time will tell long-term if I keep going back to it.
Star Trek Online....
For the most part it's the same'ol same'ol, Habit as much as fun. Dailies and tweaking to ships/characters. No complaints here.
I'm continuing to like the Halloween event but the random groups do tend to be very random. Sometimes that does "grind my gears". That said time has flown.
There will be a lot of events one after another in a short space of time that'll close off this years STO events. I'm looking forward to the rewards; But I can already see it as time passing too quickly.
Oddly enough in STO I'm no achievement(accolade) junkie like I am in other games(not even the xbox version). If they happen they happen. Seems no wonder there were players running into the wall of eyes in the event to 'get the cats'. Nah there are still players who haven't got a clue!
The NPC's seemed to be on a stand on chair protest again. I'm sure that'll be 'fixed' with the downtime today (26th). *Edit, which it did!
The next event on Xbox will catch-up with the Mirror Borg 'incursion'. So that will be an addition to the daily do's. Which should be good. I'm thinking of my KDF character of course and the transponder goals..... Cloaked kills can be had. Then again pug's for better and worse. Time will tell. It'll be a mosh-pit of events for the rest of the year on that platform(PC will be in an orderly queue by comparison).
Speaking of Xbox I did end up creating another Jem'Hadar. I'd seen too many players running around as Breen as the recruit event has gone on. So it pushed my decision over the edge and I created one. Unlike on PC I'll have to spend some gathered(free) Lobi/currency for the suits/costume; And I'll need a Phoenix prize event to get a suitable Breen ship.... Plus wait for the winter event itself for the actual space set which is the point of it all. An event which is apparently getting a 'cool' ship. Anyway it's all up in the air but a bit of a project to keep active with.
Darkest Dungeon....
The road to completion goes on. The Miller was easier than I recall but then again this is Radiant mode.
Maybe the games previous dunking on me regardless of mode is now letting up.... Jinxed it more I know!
Who am I kidding it's a ploy from the game to really kick me around in the Crimson Court. I'm holding off on doing anything there till I get the hamlet back up to a hero roster(teams) of suitable levels. I do like to have specific heroes set in teams.... Less than what I'd have done in more difficult runs but work needed all the same. Work done, work to do. As always.
Eve Online....
The Eve client will no longer support Windows 7 & 8. No great loss and the march of progress forces change(improvements?).
I've still no interest in the ongoing in game events.

The 'sales' go on...... Surprise surprise; at least they are not screwing over the previous 'sale' purchasers for the next 'sale'.

Despite having my mains on the go in game and being happy with the content I'm interacting with; I can't help but go back to an Alpha who could potentially be joining a wormhole corp.
An area of the game I've never done anything beyond being a day-tripper. I was a bit of a path finder for a friend who was lost and got him out one time.....
As usual I'm stuck in the minutia of a large change with this 'alt'.... What to setup and potentially bring etc.
Euro Truck Simulator 2....
Events, events, events! Two done and one to go for me. Safe to say I've been enjoying it.
The more the game I play the more I get from it. Both in terms of gameplay and in value for money overall. The improvements to the game and it's looks have been 'a thing'; to behold. Like an ever improving investment that makes me want to play the game more.
With the latest DLC I've been back and with it the event for that DLC, which has also included the second last DLC as the contrives and areas are mixed. 2 for one event as it were. With the Season that's just upon us the Halloween event is also on. So that's three events on the go at once. I thought the 2 at one was a thing but with three it's 'interesting. I've been trying to do the job deliveries that cover the most event needs. 200k journeys with tricky treats to/from the West Balkans/black sea dlc countries.
A post about the addition of a second hand truck dealer is very interesting.
https://blog.scssoft.com/2023/10/149-update-used-truck-dealers.htmlI'm really liking the look of the Halloween trailers this year. They're day of the dead theme works well.
I only hope that the Christmas event will be back to embracing a full lights on trailer this year. I miss those old trailers.
