Gaming but not too much gaming....

A busy week and a busy weekend with one thing and another. Never mind being a bank holiday weekend and all that that entails one way or another. There was gaming but not too much gaming(perspective?)

For the day that's in it....

OĆche Shamhna Shona Daoibh! Happy Halloween!

Fallout is getting a 'TV' show with an air date of 4.12.24. American dates so it'll be the 13th of April next year. It's all wait and see I guess....

Power Wash Simulator is getting the Back to the Future DLC on Nov 16th. I'm looking forward to it.

Asterox Imperium is a game that by one mans hand(Jace Masula) has been working towards being an Eve Offline single players game. There's a lot to it and a lot to be done. While I've followed the dev updates and patch notes for years I bought the game(and it's mining predecessor a while ago) to 'be' more in contact with it. A sale is also a sale in that regard. However during the week I got to see a youtuber I follow and who also follows the game and it's updates. As he said the game may never be 'done' and it is uniquely only for certain people. I feel it's a game and updates are worthy of mention.

Star Citizen. Once again for all the hype I see in 'fans' it's questionable to me. Maybe I'm getting more and more cynical but not for no reason. After all the time the game has been 'in development', "they" are 'so' into it, no questions asked. Like Starfield(yea I'm not a fan of it). I didn't watch much of the Citizen Con but it all seemed the same to me, big ideas and pretty show but not much to the show that's delivered. Squadron 42 may be feature complete but that's not a product to be 'out'. That said fans did get hands on gameplay, but even there I'm skeptical as a demo in a convention is not a game in the real world. How many demos or tech tests have been done for how many games only to land face down on 'release'. The more I'm a gamer the more I'm untrusting of development promises. Star Citizen is the more egregious. It has a lot to deliver and are on a shorter time frame then they were. Even without saying a 'release' date for Squadron 42 it's 'feature complete'. Fans will be 'expecting' it sooner rather than later. If the 'release slips' then slips again it's sale'ol same'ol and the player base never mind onlookers will go to town on them never being able to deliver anything.

Speaking of Star Citizen and Starfield TheYamiks had a good entertaining video on that subject...

Also worth a look from him is this one:

Planet Crafter....

Post consumption of all the latest content has left me back into a holding pattern in gameplay. Specifically the export/trade and accumulation of wealth. The patch decimated my 400k down to 30k or so. Many fuses were purchased for the new tech boosters.

Exporting has been slightly tweaked again. It's an ongoing process of processes. Fun in it's own right.

Dave the Diver....

Diving is back on the menu! At least for a little while this last week. Speaking of games in a holding pattern. While I'm far from the heights of playing a lot of it a lot of the time, I was back to finish up some aspects of the game. Fishing, breeding them, farming the veg/chicken eggs etc; Enhance dishes and most importantly get the diamond Cooksta rating.

Also interesting to see Dave get a statue with the sea people.

Dare I say the game is 'done, done'!! I've not played much since the narrative end. Running the sushi bar is interesting but it's lead to a lot of skipped time instead of diving or 'doing'. Time will tell long-term if I keep going back to it.

Star Trek Online....

For the most part it's the same'ol same'ol, Habit as much as fun. Dailies and tweaking to ships/characters. No complaints here.

I'm continuing to like the Halloween event but the random groups do tend to be very random. Sometimes that does "grind my gears". That said time has flown.

There will be a lot of events one after another in a short space of time that'll close off this years STO events. I'm looking forward to the rewards; But I can already see it as time passing too quickly.

Oddly enough in STO I'm no achievement(accolade) junkie like I am in other games(not even the xbox version). If they happen they happen. Seems no wonder there were players running into the wall of eyes in the event to 'get the cats'. Nah there are still players who haven't got a clue!

The NPC's seemed to be on a stand on chair protest again. I'm sure that'll be 'fixed' with the downtime today (26th). *Edit, which it did!

The next event on Xbox will catch-up with the Mirror Borg 'incursion'. So that will be an addition to the daily do's. Which should be good. I'm thinking of my KDF character of course and the transponder goals..... Cloaked kills can be had. Then again pug's for better and worse. Time will tell. It'll be a mosh-pit of events for the rest of the year on that platform(PC will be in an orderly queue by comparison).

Speaking of Xbox I did end up creating another Jem'Hadar. I'd seen too many players running around as Breen as the recruit event has gone on. So it pushed my decision over the edge and I created one. Unlike on PC I'll have to spend some gathered(free) Lobi/currency for the suits/costume; And I'll need a Phoenix prize event to get a suitable Breen ship.... Plus wait for the winter event itself for the actual space set which is the point of it all. An event which is apparently getting a 'cool' ship. Anyway it's all up in the air but a bit of a project to keep active with.

Darkest Dungeon....

The road to completion goes on. The Miller was easier than I recall but then again this is Radiant mode.

Maybe the games previous dunking on me regardless of mode is now letting up.... Jinxed it more I know!

Who am I kidding it's a ploy from the game to really kick me around in the Crimson Court. I'm holding off on doing anything there till I get the hamlet back up to a hero roster(teams) of suitable levels. I do like to have specific heroes set in teams.... Less than what I'd have done in more difficult runs but work needed all the same. Work done, work to do. As always.

Eve Online....

The Eve client will no longer support Windows 7 & 8. No great loss and the march of progress forces change(improvements?).

I've still no interest in the ongoing in game events.

https://www.eveonline.com/news/view/gm-week-returns-in-2023

The 'sales' go on...... Surprise surprise; at least they are not screwing over the previous 'sale' purchasers for the next 'sale'.

Despite having my mains on the go in game and being happy with the content I'm interacting with; I can't help but go back to an Alpha who could potentially be joining a wormhole corp.
An area of the game I've never done anything beyond being a day-tripper. I was a bit of a path finder for a friend who was lost and got him out one time.....
As usual I'm stuck in the minutia of a large change with this 'alt'.... What to setup and potentially bring etc.

Euro Truck Simulator 2....

Events, events, events! Two done and one to go for me. Safe to say I've been enjoying it.

It seems I'm not the only one enjoying the events and the new DLC.

The more the game I play the more I get from it. Both in terms of  gameplay and in value for money overall. The improvements to the game and it's looks have been 'a thing'; to behold. Like an ever improving investment that makes me want to play the game more.

With the latest DLC I've been back and with it the event for that DLC, which has also included the second last DLC as the contrives and areas are mixed. 2 for one event as it were. With the Season that's just upon us the Halloween event is also on. So that's three events on the go at once. I thought the 2 at one was a thing but with three it's 'interesting. I've been trying to do the job deliveries that cover the most event needs. 200k journeys with tricky treats to/from the West Balkans/black sea dlc countries.

A post about the addition of a second hand truck dealer is very interesting.

I'm really liking the look of the Halloween trailers this year. They're day of the dead theme works well.
I only hope that the Christmas event will be back to embracing a full lights on trailer this year. I miss those old trailers.

Gaming on....

Another week that's seen a lot of game updates, a lot due to either back end of game engine updates; Or changes to improve in game game-play.

Updates and DLC have been had. For me mainly on Euro Truck Sim 2 and Planet Crafter.

Darkest Dungeon....

Darkest Dungeon has been very Darkest Dungeon despite it being on Radiant mode! The further into the weeds I get, the more I think the game is trolling. I've completed runs in both the harder modes and yet Radiant seems to be extra spiteful. That said I've completed the Darkest Dungeon run.

No matter what I was unable to take Dismas and Reynauld back into the Darkest Dungeon. Radiant mode is supposed to allow that but it wasn't working. For that achi to pop I had to change the game options and allow character entry. Changed to get it and then turned if off after(not that it mattered).

The biggest pain wasn't the end boss but the dungeon crawl just before where the mobs can teleport your crew anywhere in the layout. But the end was done and with only the 'expected' two losses during the end fight. A bit of an anticlimax but glad it's over with. The Crimson Court will prove to be a bigger challenge and a far larger pain in the roster.

With the main quest done I went about fixing up the high end roster(again). Also claiming some of the ancestor trinkets I'd previously missed from the normal dungeons. In a semi celebration of the end of the Darkest Dungeon I built the Red Hook

Star Trek Online....

MMO's in general are all about faffing about. More Eve Online(more than ship spinning, like asset management) for me than STO, despite playing STO on both PC and Xbox.

The PC version has seen me tweak ships/fits and characters. With some added tweaks to the looks of even the least used characters.

I'm enjoying the Halloween event despite the deterioration of P.U.G. quality. Those that enter and do not know or do not care about being a team player are almost at their peek as the event's main award should have been claimed by most by now. These extra runs are all about claiming the Dil. Anyway with the way things are either I'll grit my teeth and go on or start doing the single player 'options'.

On the Xbox STO side I've been doing much the same as on PC. Dailies and faffing.... Due to the events the KDF recruit is not making much more progress on his transponder. The Winter event isn't going to help that much either.

Eve Online....

For another MMO I'm really playing it single player. Funny how many MMO's can be played that way, as well as the number of players who do so. Co-op with a friend doesn't really count in an MMO as being MMO....

Anyway gameplay and fun had. Characters improved, ships fitted and tweaked, industry had etc etc. Main income being from basic Planetary Interaction. Far from the industrialist I used to be. That said my friend(on the other side of the world) is back full time industry. The way he does things is anathema to how I like my isk wallet. He goes all out max outlay to gain max income over time. So much assets held on the market long term. I know it's how to do things 'properly', but I'm cursed with cautiousness. I call it sensible he calls it chicken. I like to remind him what he says when I have to loan him another ship or two. All part of the fun!

While I'm on my mains on paid accounts I still took time this last week to play that Alpha I was running in the Abyss. I wanted to run him there till the ship insurance ran out or he ran out of road.... As it turns out he ran out of road first. I'm sure I clicked on the wrong filament so was not doing the correct damage type as I did very little damage and took a LOT of incoming DPS hard. An end indeed.

Euro Truck Simulator 2....

The new DLC(West Balkans) opens up the map; So much more driving and delivering has been had and will be had.

I've already setup two new garages with trucks and drivers to enhance my trucking empire. Profits have been flowing in and those drivers have been 'improving'.

With the opening up of the DLC there is also the start of a new event(and that other event) to use both it and the Black Sea DLC. Always good to see.

So yea, lots of trucks and driving to do in the new content. I think this time round at least for my character in the DLC he'll be driving a mix between Daf and Renault trucks. Once I set those up that is. They are the least used in my trucking company and I don't recall the last time I owned one on my character. For now it's a case of sticking with an old reliable Iveco and doing some sightseeing in the new DLC.

Planet Crafter...

The new new-ness with all the new. It's been a content consuming time on the planet.

The two new areas are good additions to the game, Volcanic more than the Beach imho. Not that the beach is bad.... The Volcanic is just a more dramatic landscape.

With the new devices to boost production/power etc... I reached 400k currency just in time to be able to spend most of it on the fuses those devices need.

But speaking of dramatic, some volcanic screenshots.....

The story of the previous planet crafter goes on.... I do like the lava outside the windows.

The old large wrecks have all been added to as well. Each now has a vault room filled with goodies.

The new volcanic wreck of course needed to be fully investigated.

It was also fun to see the desert wreck get a way to finally and properly visit the bridge. New smashed window and vine to climb up.

The new fish is interesting but at a full 50 less than the golden fish it's not worth it other than to see/have.  The same goes for the new frog but it does look 'cooler'.

In the older world setup of stuff some changes to the world were narrowly averted by my Mushroom cave setup. The new rock additions were almost aware of the stuff I had on site!

To make some currency back I've altered the main export, now a mix of Fusion cells and chip filler.
