Limit Theory....

It's been another while since I last looked at Limit Theory. It seems to have come on leaps and bounds.

Weekly forum updates have been interesting and the game will be at this years Pax South with a working demo! This video from last year was interesting. Really looking forward to hearing more about this game.

For me this game was and still is the early potential that Star Citizen and No Man's Sky were. LT is a game I'm hoping will be great no matter the length of time/budget.

I've missed the old development video's that were made and I fully understand that the time to make them took away from the games development and why they were stopped. So I'm glad to have found a fan made version from DistantReachGaming that talks through the weekly posts.

Limit Theory.... Outpaced?

It's been almost three years since I first saw Limit Theory. Well over 5 since it got started as a Kickstarter. I've tracked it's updates, the designers real life changes etc. I've drifted away and forgotten about it. It's a game that's had, is having a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. Part of me is wondering will it come out, another part is wondering when. I'm sure there have been many questions about weather it is still relevant. I think it is. It's a unique game that promises a lot. Looking at the old update video's it shows how much there is to build on. As much as I like what I'm seeing I'm still starting to question if this game is the best way of seeing those things; And if it's already been outpaced by others of it's genre.

Limit Theory....

After a refresh of my browser I culled a lot of my saved bookmarks and came back across a game that I'd not checked up on in a long time, Limit Theory.
It seems it was good timing on my recheck as there was an update about it's development.
I'm looking forward to see where this all goes.

Limit Theory update....

The kickstarter page for Limit Theory has been updated last month with the latest information on the games return to development. #Update43.
As updates for the game are a lot slower in coming (and he explains why) I've not been keeping a close eye on it. Am really glad to see the updated info and the game I'm sure will look better than ever when more info is out.

Competition on the internet spaceship scene....

I've been playing eve for years now with no sign of stopping, maybe some slowing... but no stopping. Before that there were a lot of single player spaceship sims/games that I've played over the years such as the wing commander series, privateer 2 and Freespace games.
Once I start in on a game that I like or a series of games it's hard for me to unlike it. So for me it will take a lot to stop me from playing Eve.
Competition between game makers and their creations is a good thing, it makes them strive harder to do better in both releasing a more polished game and trying to keep that game up to date once it is released so they can stay competitive.

Although my main internet spaceship game is Eve Online I am tempted by the promise of Star Citizen, it's creator has defined the space game, having it go online keeping his ideals as a kickstarter is a great thing. The game itself has so much potential it's crazy. It's got a hardcore following already that will see it keep it's head and become a great game. It might be the Eve killer for me or even worse I may end up with both!

In my usual browsing of the interwebs there are three links well worth a read regarding these games.

Star Citizen from an Eve perspective:

Star Citizen perspective from an longtime Eve player:

And a good general overview of the current compeditors in the realm of internet spaceships:

Besides Star Citizen I've been keeping an eye on No Man's Sky and  Limit Theory.
After reading Freebooted I'll have to keep an eye on Seldon Crisis, Transverse and Dual Universe.

Exciting times ahead.

limit theory.............

While browsing I came across a YouTube clip of anticipated games due out for 2014, it listed a game I’d not heard of before. Limit Theory.

So I looked it up and was very surprised to see (to my amateur eye) a Single player Eve online-esk game…. Freaking sweet.
The game looks great and the monthly updated video's seeing the additions and enhancements evolve are a joy to watch.
If this is out as early as it states then I am really even more interested!
I may not call a halt to my Eve live's but it sure will make an impact!
