No Man's Sky....

The latest patch (Atlas Rises, v1.3/1.31) for No Man's Sky has been released.

While the in game splash screen notice gives a broad overview, the main patch notes are lengthy and filled with details.

From a brief look it's an update that builds from the previous updates, the foundation patch was a foundation for this patch. There really is a long term plan for the game, for updates and the life of the game it seems. More than just story content, game engine updates, enhanced in game options or u.i. changes, this update gives me hope that the game will be three times better in three patches time. It's already a better game than it was at launch, just at a face value comparison. After spending only a short time (30 minutes) in the current version it's already prompting me to spend more time in it. That's more than the previous updates did alone.

Reputation now has an interface and a greater meaning.

In game guides offer a lot more explanation and help.

The new missions add meaning to the mass destruction you bring to planets among other things.

The new scanner is a lot better than the original incarnation. A lot more information is given.

The graphic updates show a lot more subtle details. Like the ice on your cockpit looking a lot more like ice and not just sugar frosting.

The trailer for the patch shows a lot of the changes and updates.

This patch has let me feel some excitement to explore the game again. There is hope a lot more will be changed and updated. "Much more will follow" says the voice at the end of the trailer. Maybe its my nostalgia or want for this game to be better but I believe that tag line, they are proving it with each patch.
