Everspace....

Since the last time I mentioned Everspace I've seen a few review/opinion video's about the game.
I want to mention two video's that span the review/opinion scale. As there does seem to be a wide range of views about the game. It all boils down to personal taste and mood at the time.
While TotalBiscuit does go into a lot of analytic detail in his WTF video. I feel that my bias of the game is more akin to the shorter video from TheHiveLeader. That shorter video(below) is a lot shorter and more fun, which I feel is a better reflection of the game itself. Short blasts of fun that shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Eve Online.... Spam to warp....

An Alpha alt with sub 400K SP doing the SoE Epic arc...... Whats the worst that could happen....

I was reminded that survival is not totally down to player skill but character skill points that buffer against or give more time to avert 'deprivation',  Early game first world 'problem'.

Memo to self: Learn Hull Upgrades IV next on the skill queue.

STO.... Those who wait....

Once I get to claim the summer reward I'll have a dedicated Tier 6 ship for each class no matter the faction (once they are level 40 and above). It's been a few years in collecting the freebies but it will be good to get a T6 for each class.
Next thing I'll know I'll start showing interest again in getting proper reworked fits for each character ship.

Factions in fairness does just mean Federation and Klingons. Not that there are very many dedicated Klingon faction players. Does anyone play the Romulans and not side with the Federation? If they do they must have a lot of tumbleweed to clear. Or at least a lot more than the Klingons....

A change of scene/narrative is motivation for alt creation, at least for me.

Maybe I need to swap server/shard/realm more:

What now.....

This game came out of the blue, I've not seen anything about it before, nothing I can remember anyway. With a game being tagged as an open world action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi/Fantasy world mixing magic and mechs, I'm left wondering what they have left out. It seems like a Skyrim meets Fallout 4 crossover. It's a game that peeks my interest but it's not one I'll be actively keeping an eye on ...... It does have the graphics of a good game.    http://elexgame.com/

Games on my radar.....

All for PC and in no particulare order:

Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court DLC

Project Argo

South Park™: The Fractured but Whole™

Red Dead Redemption 2

Surviving Mars

Sea of Thieves

Dreadnought

Wild West Online

Mechwarrior 5

These two games are gonna be short on a single player experiance so I'll aim for a purchase longer term when they are cheaper.
Call od Duty WW2
&
Battlefield 1

A long shot due to bugs, another for a sale in the future, it should be better after it's console release:
Space Hulk: Deathwing

STO.... So it begins....

Day one of the summer event and the first application of vouchers for the reward ship.

Long Journey Home....

Last year a game caught my eye, Long Journey Home.

It was released about a week ago. I'd completely forgotten about it until I saw a few recent playthroughs.

Seeing it as a completed game with all it's mechanics I'm finding myself less interested than I recall I was. On a quick look anyway it seems needlessly complex in certain area's. Maybe I'm missing the point of it's mechanics. It seems like it should be a game I would be really into, but there is something I can't quiet put my finger on that's saying it's not for me.
Right now I'm getting the vibe that I'll pick this game up maybe after it gets a few updates and goes on sale on steam.

No Man's Sky.... Portals?

Who really knows whats going on? The developers? Probably, but I doubt they really need to be this cryptic!

Planetbase.... V1.2.2

It's been almost a year since the last update for the game, I'd lost hope of seeing another patch.
I'm always glad to see updates but I guess it is well past getting anything more than community support.... http://steamcommunity.com/games/403190/announcements/detail/1259166922115411855

More hope now of a Planetbase 2 game than any major changes to the game mechanics. Pity. At least they now have competition.

DD: The Flagellant

Interesting news on the upcoming DLC for Darkest Dungeon: PCGamer

In a recent stream from BaerTaffy he announced that he had been called on to do some voice work for the new DLC. Good news indeed.

The new 'Hero' is an interesting class.

WoW....

Paying for an online game makes me think I should be doing something with it. With my wife still in hospital I've not had any motivation to log back into wow for any length of time. WoW long term as become an 'us' game.  I did log in to both of my 110's for a few seconds for the sake of it and to park them in the Dalaran bank. I also logged onto the mage I was last levelling with but found no desire to stay and level in a faffing manner.
The guild activity was also almost zero, the history showed only 2 active players, them and their alts. An RL friend and the raid leader. They seem to be whoring very high level gear. The gear gap makes me feel depressed, no quick catchup etc... With not much else happening it really is the summertime blues for the guild.

A Lock, a Tard and a Mage walk into a bank...... Account payments cancelled.

Cities Skylines Patched....

One thing I like about Cities Skylines is that updates are freely patched into the game whenever a new DLC is released.
I already like the improvements that the Mass Transit DLC patch brings to the base game. Given my limited game time I've only been able to check out a small fraction of the changes. The improved traffic management post patch alone is by far the best thing I'm seeing.

I love the game and when it gets such updates without further purchases it's great for the game, the gamer and the community. If you are a true die hard fan of the game then the small price 'full' DLC can extent the content so much further.

Argo a go go....

While I did mention Argo recently, the more I look into this free game the more I'm inclined to want to "get into" it.... https://www.projectargo.net/game

Argo - Scenario Spotlight "Clash"

Argo - Scenario Spotlight: "Link"

Argo - Scenario Spotlight: "Raid":

Free Soccer Management game....

While I'm no footy fan I am a fan of managment simulations. Getting a good soccer sim is hard, getting one that you don't have to pay for and that is add free is impossible. Thankfully Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 has just saved the day. myClub mode is now available as a free-to-play addition to the PES 2017 Trial Edition for PC(on Steam)/PS4 and XboxOne.
While is it "free" it does have in game purchases. Less hassle than pesky in your face adverts that have nothing to do with the game. A trial well worth a quick look at the very least.

Still no news on the [T6] Vorgon Ryn’Kodan Carrier....

I'm surprised that there has been no more details or stats since the news about the [T6] Vorgon Ryn’Kodan Carrier as a reward for the summer event was announced.
I'll still grind the vouchers for it to be unlocked on all my high end characters but details are nice.... I'm sure the stat fanatics have run out of tinfoil to chew.

Tomorrow the 6h of June (D-Day indeed, and on a Tuesday as the historic day was) will see the latest Season (#13) be released to the console versions.
I've still not been active with anything new this season, despite the new War Game Queues.

I did pay a visit to all my characters, say hello, run some officer and fleet missions for old times sake...

GRW: Fallen Ghosts....

For the first time in a while I got to spend some quality time at home. With real world stuff done I then started to enjoy some proper PC activities and updated a lot of software. The big one being the newest DLC for Ghost Recon Wildlands, Fallen Ghosts.

Once downloaded I recreated my "main" and "main alt" for the expansion.

Both have access to at least 1 of the weapons they use in the main campaign.

My main has access to his Tar-21 but his secondary is now a newly unlocked sniper rifle reward, the PSG-1 Mercenary. So far it's working out well enough.

Right from the start I have to say I'm enjoying the DLC far more than the previous expansion. I think I was right to be positive in my previous thoughts about this expansion.

The "main alt" has access to the Stoner LMG she has as a secondary but her main SMG P-90 is not unlocked in this DLC, so she's had to live with the expansions version of the Vector .45 ACP SMG.

With both my characters having a weapon that handles 'well enough', I'll still aim to get them the the same weapons as the main campaign. Or if I find that a DLC version/replacement is better then so be it.

I didn't get to play much beyond a mission or two with my recreated main. I've still not recreated the 3rd "grey man" character in any DLC. I think I'll leave him for co-op within the main campaign only.
This time round I finished off my game session by doing a few missions with him. But the quality of co-op players has fallen since I last played. I had expected better for around the 8pm mark, which I thought would have been ideal timing. True pug was very true pug in the worst ways. Maybe it was just a bad night/day/time etc.....

I was tempted to change a character into the Splinter Cell suit, cool as it looks it felt a bit "off" to me when in game so I reverted her back to her usual look.
