The farming life.....

Just to expand a little on the Wow farming that has become a thing I'm into.

My druid is leading the charge with the other 90's I have either just starting out or about to get the second plot.

My Druid has unlocked 3 plots, gotten to a revered level of rep I think. The extra rep gained from buying the extra rep item (name of the item escapes me) from the Tillers quartermaster that doubles all other characters rep gain on that account isn't hurting.

Almost got all the plots!
Starting out.... Willing them to grow....
I think the ability to instantly transform into flight form is a great help and a great draw for me to stick with the druid. Some quests let you gather items while still in flight form and avoid the need to kill enemies to get to the item lol, even for farming ore nodes it saves so much time. In fact I love jumping off high cliffs and popping flight form, makes the character feel cool... maybe me as well ;-p

The only real reason for doing the farming and the fast pace of doing it is a combination of the handy druid and the ability to plant ore and motes of harmony which I hope will lessen the burdens on other professions and start making some real gold. When I get the rep to actualy do those things.

Also getting the tillers tabard for the druid and some goat mounts won't hurt either.

Otherwise on the druid I've only really been doing my druid in LFR, he has gotten some new items but I've not gone anywhere near Mr Robot to sort out his stats... Maybe once he has a few bits from the last 3 raids.... Then look into transmoging.

the new look.... must hide the cape....

Null PI rethink.......

Having had time to rethink the redo of the P.I. on my null alt, I’ve changed what I want to do. I just need to recon and act if it looks good.

There is one system that has 3 lava planets. That would give ¾ of the Pi materials needed. The last quarter could be done on one plasma planet that would also combine all the elements into the end product.
These two systems are also on the direct path I’d take to get out of null anyway, only the plasma planet is in a system that would be used by all as it is a main thoroughfare. Not a system that people would usually hang around in.

The down side is that I’d need to demolish my entire setup as it currently stands, and ship in another lava command centre.

I’d like to get about 1 more week of income to make it feel like it was worthwhile.
These PI changes will have to wait until next weekend.

Some good news.....

After the first couple of times you do the data/relic mini game in Eve, the loot spew looked kinda cool, then as it went on, it gets more annoying.

This news gives hope..

Maybe when the change comes in we can actually get what the cargo scanners say is in the can.

For more into on running these sites a good starting place is to look up JonnyPew he has done some great video's. Here is one where he does a site:

Daily grind....

With Eve and Wow I've only been really getting to do the daily maintenance that I've set out for myself the last few day's. That means professions and farming in wow, for Eve its the P.I./POS and Skills updates/checks.

In between those I've been playing matches of BF4, quick fast and non committal unless you really want to be focused on it. sometimes I have.

Most games of BF4 I've been playing have been conquest/domination with some good results.
I've maxed out the Assault and Engineer class's. the weapons are a far way from being maxed out if ever at all. But I have just discovered a free download that gives me all the pistols. So I'm working well with my new favourite the G18, fully automatic for up close in the face run and gun fun. A great secondary weapon to switch to when reloading or to use off the bat when in a very small space, like when in a broken down building.

Not all Kill/Death ratio's matter ;)

I wish I had a better way of taking screenies from the xbox but I don't feel the need to splash any cash on something when the ol'camera phone does the basic job ;-p

Mission loot!

My main alt had done some level 3 mission grinding for Lai Dai standings so he could see an R&D agent. The last handin he did for these standings coincided with being given a storyline mission which I ignored until recently. I read it and seeing it was a 10 part mission line was very tempted to ignore and more tempted to decline it.
Eve survival says that parts 1 to 5 were generic merc ships and then 6 to 10 were specific pirate rats.
Last weekend I went ahead and did them in his tengu. One mission area had me warp in as usual and at an acceleration gate I saw a named NPC just sitting there solo. No problem for my Tengu to take care of.

Komni Envoy wreck

At the time I didn't even notice it was a named spawn. I forget the name of the missions but maybe that NPC is usually part of them, but I think it must be one of these rarely seen NPC's. How else would a level 3 BS drop such good loot.

Lootz!

Not a bad ending to get some nice drops.
I must remember to read eve survival thoroughly when storyline missions are given and not skip any long one's.

P.S.
On doing a bit of research it appears that this npc appears normally in the mission but that it's loot table has a rare chance to drop the +4 Implant.
I think the Chinese whispers have corrupted my memory or understanding over time. I think the "rare spawns" mentioned to me before were meant to mean just their loot that has a rare chance to drop the "good stuff"!
I've also just read that when people get to this stage of the mission line they kill the npc and leave it until downtime resets it the following day. That way they can farm that npc for it's loot, if it drops it....

Interesting what you can learn.

Changes to my null alts P.I. pt2

I didn't get as much of this done as I had planned. RL and other game time (BF4,wow) left Eve out of the loop for a good bit over the weekend. I did get some things done.

As planned I got an alt (my Amarr alt) to buy 2 x lava and 2 x plasma PI command centres, Amarr was way overpriced.

So I bought them 2 jumps out in a station that was already on my flight path.

I collected and moved them to the last hi-sec station before null and contracted them and the hauler to my null alt.

Whilst on my null alt the next day doing the normal PI stuff I kept an eye on the Intel channels. They seemed to be clear of anything in the way so I jump cloned to the null exit system and warped to the gate… it was camped and bubbled...
...Thankfully by blues.
When doing this I have a few bookmark's around the gate, simple pod warp to one will let me see what;s going on. Ideally there are better ways to do this... checking directional scanners... asking re discreet intel.
Blue intel is not a good thing to be flaunting openly. Best to just go and check.

With blues on the gate to give some protection, if its defended then it's going to be a bit more reassuringly safer when warping back in.
So I decided to pod warp back to that systems station and then back to the gate and jumped through.

I got to the station in hi-sec, collected the gear from contracts, piled it all into the Hauler and jumped back to null.
The hauler now contained:

 And was fit like this:

T1 fit except for the T2 Cargo Extenders
The blue camp was still up. However there were a intel showed a lot of reds about and while I warped into the 1st null jump and was about to enter the next gate to get the jump bridge home, I was greeted with some nice intel channel updates. The first one is listed just as I saw it in space, just as I got the the gate of the system that was being mentioned!

So given the number of reds dotted about and then a large spike along with another large spike at the defended gate that also bubbled the station 20 seconds after I docked I decided it wasn’t’ worth waiting them out….

This left me wondering if it was worth redoing the PI, as both the entry system and the next one beside it are 'the' main traffic routes, and are both systems with plasma and lava planets, high traffic not only for blues but also for any reds that want a fight. But i guess no risk, no reward!

A return to posting on pet projects.... PI in null

I think I'll document a little pet project I'll do over the coming weekend.

My null alt has had Planetary Interaction running to gather basic Tier 1 materials, I'd gather and sell them without conversion into anything else. I did it this way to make some easy isk and had intended to change planets/setup as soon as I had a good amount of isk built up. This didnt' happen due to a little apathy with a dash of complacency.
I am now very comfortable in the section of null that he is in and know how things work, even how the reds act when passing through. I've decided to get things changed to get more out of the P.I.
My alt can use 4 Planets with a moderate amount of skill. In looking up some information on best selling products I think I'll choose Robotics as they seem to be the best in an isk/easy to produce way.

To start these changes I need to remove one setup on a gas planet and build on a Plasma planet.
The goal being to make Robotics. The plasma planet has all the items needed to create these.
However the strain on the Command centre may be too much. I may need to also remove another planet and setup half the production on a Lava planet. Thankfully the systems controlled by my alliance ( that I can do PI on ), contain 2 systems that have plasma planets and again thankfully these two systems also have lava planets, ideal in minimising jumps when moving materials.

I could do the math's on how much should be produced over a week, but as soon as I start thinking about that kind of stuff my brain starts to melt, and its a Friday.... no statistics please.
Anyway, checking Evecentral gives good prices for the Robotics and for the Mech Parts/Consumer Elec, so depending on volume I may end up selling things separately if they are worth more....will see how it goes.

The robotics production is set like this:

Taken from http://www.hst-soft.de/korai/Eve_PI_Diagrams_v1_4.pdf

That production tree can be split between left and right branches leading to the combination into Robotics.
The left hand branch can be setup on a plasma planet. The right hand branch can be setup on a lava planet.
Consumer Electronics can be exported and shipped to the plasma planet which will have an extra  processing "plant" to combine the Mechanical Parts and Consumer Electronics into the final Robotics product.

Sounds great.

I'll need to have an alt buy the lava and plasma command centre's, move them and contract over to the null alt.
The null run to pick them up will be a slight bottleneck in the plans as its a run through a real bottleneck when jumping into hi-sec. This is dangerous due to the number of current wars against the alliance. A quick scouting trip or two should ease this into a go or no go phase.  There are a few things that need to be brought in from hi-sec that have been in station for a while, with luck this one run should work out well.

Once things are setup and running for a few days I should have an indication if its a better way to work the PI. If successful I'll convert the remaining two planets into a mirror image running PI in the next system.
If not I'll make the best of what I can gather and sell from there.

I'll update the blog with info on how this all goes.

Looks great!

Weekly update....

The last 7ish days have been a bit of a roller coaster, rain, bit of snow and lots of wind, hurricanes in general.
Lack of sleep has impacted my week as well, 12 hour days of work and travel just leave me feeling rebellious so a few hours of gaming usually end's in another 2 or 3 hours leading to the very early A.M. in the morning, leading to more lack of sleep, leading to a worse day, this effect has been spiralling downward.

The gaming week can be summed up as this:

Start with some wow action about 8PM, professional dailies/farming, mainly on the druid faff about on it for a bit that brings me to 9PM'ish. So if I haven't started BF4 (I usually have) I start it and start up Eve.
My RL friend will usually be on by then and we fly through some missions….
Somewhere in all that I "have" to do all the usual PI/POS and skill checks on the Eve character’s….

A lot of work for a dossing about with gaming!
Too many games ... too many daily tasks with all these games.... I'd still like to finish off the latest Xcom game and do a bit on the old Rome Total War, to say the least.

I realise the problem... gaming or rather a lack of time to game in them properly.
But the solution in my head isn't to stop gaming its to stop doing the job!!!! Mental note to self.... job = money = getting games..... must remember that.

Anyway enough complaining from me, here are the games:

EVE

The usual PI and skill checks are ongoing, as is updating jobs on the pos.
The usual bout of mission running for SOE has been going well.

In doing the POS stuff I took my main to update his contracts and added in a lot more.
Will see how that turns out. but every bit helps.

This was an NPC ship in one of the missions..... players need to get their hands on things like these... I like it.

I've also been checking into some alts and am finally getting the extra skills done that they needed, these will only take a week of so but the lesser of these alts will only last 2 day's, 3 more at the most.
The training on the better lesser alt has seemed to extend on a few things… one had an initial skill training time of 3 days and has now gone to add an extra 8 weeks. I may not do it I might just do it… lol
Looking at it last night while logged in and on eveHQ on the second screen was too tempting add in 3 hours here, 9 hours there, opens up another skill that helps etc , admittedly they / it does round out the skills. I also gave that character back a tempest. It was just sitting in the mains hanger doing nothing anyway, its worth a second look into doing the lvl 4’s. Last time was a disaster but this time with luck and some tactics, may turn out ok.... That alt has the skill q paused while the lesser lesser alt get a few day's.

My main alt's 6 month’s are almost up, I moved him onto the 3rd account to get the extra training and be usable. Also with just over a week to see the monument names be taken (all active accounts on the 1st of March will have the main SP character on that account named on the monument.) I'll keep the account going a little longer. The middle of March will see me either transfer him back to the main account; Or keep the account going. I will see what to do with the null alt then as they share the same account.
I had not planned to have a 3rd account, really not sure if I will transfer both chars so many conflicting
idea's.

I also used the main alt in a tengu during the week to do some Lai Dai corp missions so that he can unlock the level 4 R&D agent. With a few more skills he will be able to farm the data-cores. So he is progressing.

One night was a real disaster ( caused by a ninja ) and saw my second main have to decline a mission to get passed it and a to also abandon a storyline mission as it was a courier mission to move 10,000m3 to a 0.3 sec system lol. Thankfully the main standings were not really that affected, more annoying than anything else.
Overall I've done a good few missions with my RL friend. They have been mainly good and fast and went really well. Just 2 cases of ninja's, despite that I think he is really back into the game. Good to see and great to have someone in RL to chat about eve. And he mentioned bringing back his second account.... Nice!

BF4

Has been going well, levelling and gearing up has been a good motivator. Gearing up helps but also learning to really run and gun without aiming down the sites at close range is a must.

I've been multi-gaming a lot as I play BF4. Not having my full attention on has caused some matches to suffer … others were a blast… literally.
Even being dead in a match  I'd leave it there, bring my attention back to playing some eve and then go back to BF4 and respawn… rinse and repeat lol

One game saw me come upon a spawn point and kill a few ppl in a row… epic.

I've been making great progress on the assault class… engineer seems to be my favourite and it is maxed.. Still plenty to do with weapons etc. I tried the recon class and it was good. More to follow…

Here are some quick phone camera shots:

The usual loss....

A nice reverse tred starts.....

Levels and scores pick up......

The Domination games are really great.....

WOW

On wow I was mainly on as my druid, I did a lot of  farming and jc’ing with him and also the frist few raids.
Got a few drops. Nice neck piece and 2 trinkets, two cloaks one will be kept as a transmog. Funny how stuff that drops there can be lower than the timeless isles gear.

My other half doesn't really do a lot of the dailies but she was hooked on the cloud serpent and got the mount and skill during the week!

I've been doing more daily profession stuff and and farming on a lot of the 90's now. Its building up.

I was surprised to see my hunter had done nothing with halfhill and the farm. Thinking I would go do the farming I logged in n he was on the isle of giants. I'd been there looking for the book to be able to tame dino pets. Before I did other stuff I decided to just kill a few dinomancers and go get the flight path, got the flight path an killed a few mobs, in looking out of interest by the fp at the colour of the dino’s there I killed one last mob and yes he dropped the book! I learned it and got my 3 dino’s, Rocky, RockyII and RockyIV … not Rocky III as naming conventions do not allow 3 of the same letter in a row!!

Since dinging my druid I've found myself enjoying it more, I think its a combination of the jewel crafting/mining and a return to a druid. The first class I ever played.

I tend to be a little roleplaying with my characters in that I use mounts and pets that are akin to the class.
My druid has the new colour changing mount, but also the cenarian griffin, Primal green raptor and armani war bear as he is a troll and as pets he has the cute cute lil wild"boom"kin and a cute lil dino. Not that I do any RP or play as RP at all but I like my chars to be "uniform" if that word fits. The hog and ele are for transporting party members/selling stuff/repairs. Always handy and always on every character.

Here is my Druids progress since he hit 90.

And to finish things off a day or two ago I took down a rare mob I happened across.

Nice. Maybe he is better than I thought.
