Star Trek Online....

So some updates worth mentioning today....

On PC I'm not even 50% done with the 'special' event and I'm already well into banging my head off the keyboard as I do the new TFO. It's mind numbing.

The Synth Wave TFO proves that dungeon mechanics are a hard thing to balance; It's not a good TFO at all. Still no excuse for the craptastic music in it. I've even heard that the music is a 'joke' on 80's Synth wave music.... No it isn't, it doesn't work, at all. I also heard someone call it clown music... And on that score(pun intended) it really does work.

Today was also the first of the new event on Xbox.

Upgrades on my Xbox main are slow but enjoyable. There's slightly more meaning in an upgrade when you've not got that much to spend on upgrading. Energy credits for ability books on the exchange are (from my PC version perspective) massively overpriced. No wonder really, as the Xbox universe isn't as (developed)old or as populated as on PC.

Still I had forgotten about an old mark IV Omni phaser I had gotten a long time ago. So I upgraded it, changed a stat and slotted it in to replace the other rear turret.

All* beams now.

Spent some more time faffing about with my Bridge officers and their abilities. Like I said the exchange is overpriced. This version of the game is super casual so I'm not going to 'work' or 'grind' for items let alone spend cash on it. So I went with what I had and what was 'cheap'(dirt cheap).

First trip out and it all seemed to go well. The Xbox version is casual as casual can be(auto execute on 90% of skills!). Just gotta embrace it.
