STAR WARS Battlefront II....

Last month I took a look at the Xbox version accessible for me via Xbox Ultimate. Again with the game through Ultimate (yea it was Epic, guess I had Ultimate on the brain) but this time for PC. Where things are definitely better with a mouse an keyboard. Multiplayer is a blast. Not a game I'd be 'into' as a mainstay but when the action is in full swing, the music kicks in and the lasers are flying, it's a thing of beauty.

Doing multiplayer in 3rd person is a lot better than I thought. Maybe its due to the wider viewing angles.

The one thing that really annoys me about the game is the battle point mechanics that allow a player to accumulate point in a match and then spend them, usually selecting a 'hero' class. Most players seem to go for a force wielding character but all seem to be OP a.f. There's nothing more annoying than hearing the lightsaber sound and then every member of your team in the area is dead, then you are.

I get that that systems swings both ways and is available to all but it's a multiplayer game; Either there's no communication/co-ordination. Things can get ridiculous fast.

Each to their own play-style weather they are tactical for the match or not. It makes me appreciate the Behemoth system in Battlefield 1. But the hero/specialist/vehicle battle-point selection system is just way to much... Match balance isn't created by it, it's a constantly shifting quicksand of rock paper scissors per player perspective.

I'm glad I got to play it. I'd still not have bought it after having seen it now; But I'll potter away with the campaign/multiplayer till the novelty wears off.
