Star Trek Online....

Despite the Xbox deployment's hiccup; Today Yesterday I got to do the first daily of the Synth Wave event.

The event and it's rewards are the same for XBox as they were for PC last October. The account unlocked Imperial Rift space set. That's a good thing; Not that they were to be different but as the Xbox/PS console versions are a few months behind the PC version...... The rewards will be good to get.

As a bonus for the hiccup the Red Alert event was brought forward. So as well as doing it on PC I got to do it on Xbox.

Which also has another good reward. One I'll be holding onto for some time as I don't have anything worthy of it's application.

The PC rewards for the Red Alert also include a ship upgrade token; Am item the console versions are currently lagging on. This surprise additional reward makes the event 10 times better....

This Red Alert is also a great opportunity for my alts(on PC); They are the ones most in need of the marks for rep/rep gear grinding.

Time has not made me forget how (subjectively) 'bad' the Synth Wave TFO is. It's objectives are drawn out and offer nothing more than filler for the sake of it. Nothing is a threat in the TFO, nothing requires any real teamwork. Rescuing survivors doesn't make the timer slow or speed up. Destroying synth ships doesn't add or take away from anything. It's the epitome of being alone together.

The only problem/threat is if a player stays outside the ever shrinking perimeter, ignoring the warnings and the countdown timer....... If you do........ You just get respawned.......
Which in this TFO has no urgency, no feeling of delay or loss(of time, efficiency, teamwork, rewards).

The music again is annoying as can be to me.

This TFO, is what it is and as 'bad' as I think it is I'll still be doing it repeatedly until the rewards can be claimed. No doubt my Xbox controller will be receiving the brunt of my stress relief ire.

It's easy to bemoan the dev's TFO design or hassle with back room patch deployment but it's very much a first world type of annoyance. The dev's do good work with what they have and are for the most part open and engaging with the community. Support for the game is also spot on in the same way.
Any personal support I've received has been top notch and timely, unlike some other bigger gaming entities.
