Thankfully as 'real' as 'real life' can get there haven't been 'real, real' problems. Just a lot more away from home obligations. "If it's not one thing it's another". So yea, real life has been more to the fore this last week in particular.
This week the technology also started acting up. My wife's PC and a storage/backup drive she uses both decided to shít the bed. So I had to crack the knuckles and recover both drives. Thankfully all was recovered from both. While I should probably say it was all down to my 'Mad Skillz' it was really down to some good drive recovery software that I've used for over 10 years(https://www.easeus.com/); It's always recovered anything I've thrown at it from home and work. Not 'sponsored' just good software that has never failed me...... Personal perspective again..... Sooooo with all that going on my wife got a new pc she ordered a few weeks ago.... Which was lucky as the HD issues broke that particular (last)straw for her anyway. Her old PC has been on a slow decline for a while. Perfect timing for transfer of recovered data. Synchronicity strikes again. Tech geek that I am of course I took in her old PC.... A spare but serviceable replacement graphics card was the last quick-fix I added before the drive issues. At least now it's become a distraction for me for the week that's in it. Fix up the HD to be workable, cloned to a spare SSD, refresh windows on that drive so as to 'keep' all the Dell/Alienware software with the 'new' Windows 10 install. Throw on a slew of updates and software to make it a mini version of my own 'main' PC. It's still a keeper in my book. Replacing the laptop on the desk... Till something else breaks and I can't fix it up.....
Having the monitor shared with the xbox. Both connected via a load of connectors to allow video and audio connections(speakers via the moniter, still mulling audio options). All works out well in the end.
Yesterday was the first day where I had a return to 'normal' and I spent 4 hours in Minecraft(PC); Exploring, adventuring and building. It was relaxing, fulfilling and enjoyable. 4 hours that vanished in the blink of an eye.
