That XCOM thing...

I'd usually have a few screen pics to go along with my scrawls of text but for some reason the screenshots for Xcom just will not work for me, even trying through steam. Sometimes its just giving me blank screenshots... So instead of trying to get it to work another way I'll post my game info and then come back to post some pics or a video.

With replaying Xcom I’d reverted to a save just before the last mission, this allows me to gather more materials/research what I’d not done and build up the gear for my soldiers.

I've got 19 soldiers and 2 hover S.H.I.V.'s

Team one is a group of 6 - 5 are Psi and all are top end gear, They are my main team.

There are 8 "normal's", used as backup/replacements, they are top end geared, and sometimes form a team.

The Team layout usually ends up being 2 heavy's, 2 snipers, one assault and one support. Generally I run this team as two sections of three ( Heavy, Sniper, plus the support or assault ). I tend to use these sections in a leap frog way.

I also have another 5 "normals". This team team started as being the lesser remnants of the others, equipped and geared with the cast off's from the "better" teams.  I use a S.H.I.V's with this team to bring them up to 6. With the other Shiv in reserve should the first get blown up.
In my mid game these were equipped with the laser weapons.  They were bad... couldn't shoot an enemy that was standing beside them.

When I shot down my first battle-ship ufo, not wanting to see my "good" teams killed I sent in these "disposables". Just to test the waters...
To my surprise they came out the other end, they were beaten up, bloodied, bruised, truly shot to bits, but all alive and victorious! I gained a lot of respect for my lil cast off team that day and I started to upgrade them the same as the rest. They did keep their unique colours and style. Nothing like a bit of tradition.
And it's been this team that I've been doing most of the replay's with.
