Eve Online....

My PVE Alpha character had a moment. I got distracted and lost track of the NPC spawns in a mission. I destroyed a trigger ship that then spawned a massive wave of ships. This mistake was compounded by my lack of speed and lack of alignment to a warp out. Not to mention being within the 2.5km optimal range of the NPC Gallente blasters and the sheer number of those ships firing on me. Thankfully I just about got out and warped away to be fully repaired by a nearby Raitaru.
It's been a while since I've been hit with the jolting shock of an impending ship lose. Something that is much more emotive than in any other game.
