Given the very limited starting tech. You can't even cut down a tree! The Before Dawn scenario has you very limited in what you can create. All the very basic items. Just about. As with previous scenario's the predators are increased in numbers if not pack size; And prey animals are very few and far between. Those that are on the map take a long time to get to. So all in all there's a large amount of literal hunter gathering to be done. Not much fun on a map where you need to raise a population to 50. Especially as you disperse them all over the place to try and survive; Getting picked off as they do so. Having some 5 human idler "quick response teams" only helps as you start to get a population.
Having said all that it was quick enough to complete. Plentiful berry/fruit picking and just about enough fish usually saved the day.
