Day 1 of the 17th Birthday celebration 'gifts'. The auto application of items to a specific character is annoying. Specifically the redeemable SKINs. Waffling rant incoming.
At least with the free SP on a character, they go into a pool on that character to be used later... Imaging if the SP needed to be redeemed and used on a specific skill straight away!
I'm getting ahead of myself.
You see I am an altoholic. I'm also a main'oholic. Why have one character when you can have three(current max number per account). I like having options. The more characters with more skills the more options open up.
I'm also an item hoarder/collector.
Take my primary account. I have my main(110 MillionSP), my second character(70 MillionSP) and a third (60 Million SP). Each in their own right is a main but on this account a main and 2 alts. So when I get to redeem a pod skin I have to choose who gets it. In the past I'd have gotten a SKIN for each of my alts. Now nobody gets to sell them. I don't even get to transfer them from another alt account(plenty of waffle about these characters and accounts on this blog).
It's auto redeem is very, very annoying.
At the very least CCP should give you a redeemable skin per character on that account at the time of redeeming.... But CCP is CCP and anything like that is not going to happen.
On a side note what am I doing with my characters on this main account and why do I need so many..... Well I have a lot of fingers in a lot of pies.
My Main is into a lot of R&D/production as well as all things hi-sec carebear.
Ditto for my 70 millionSP Alt but at this time he is in a clean clone(non training) due to mainly running abyssals. My other 60 million SP alt(old null alt)..... For now he is doing nothing beyond passive P.I. farming.
My second account likewise has three characters - I've got over 10 accounts in all, mainly one character per account(old trial/alts and the like, reclaimed for nostalgia)... Each used to be able to claim and transfer a skin to a usable character... Now they all have a skin they won't use...
Auto-applying SKINS..... I mean why.... why do it. What possible reason could this have been changed for. CCP always goes on about the sandbox and the market, yet here we are and they just cut out a piece of the market at a basic level. Part of getting a gift is re-gifting .....right....
