Gaming..... There's always another distraction.
A surprise game for me, one that immediately brought nostalgia(a big thing with me), was listed in the current sales(but not on sale) on Steam. Nostalgic because it's the closest game yet to being akin to Locomotion from my C64c days(previous waffle here and here). Another one of those games. Suffice it to say that the way Railway Islands mechanics work is both cute and compelling. Not to mention the price(at time of posting.... €2.39).
The basic mechanics of the game are to set up a rail line from a board of jumbled up parts, collect items from stations in a certain order(top middle of the screen shows that sequence); Avoid the landscape and have your train exit the map(blue tunnel).
It's another of those games that's both simple and complex. Calm fun with a side of frustration if things don't look like they could possibly work out. A nice distraction of a game Choo choo!
