STO....

The daily process goes on, not so much with the current crop of Endevours but still a fair bit to faff about after the ice race daily. I've been learning a lot about the interconnected systems in STO. Like the mastery system for ships and trait unlocks. Knowledge is power and all that.

Bear with me when I say all this... There was a drink drive, road safety campaign in the not too distant past that 'harped on' about how being sleep deprivation was just as bad for driving as drink for 'impaired judgment'.

Now, I don't get drunk, but I do quiet often push the limits of sleep while gaming. It's under such sleep deprived, impaired judgement that I regularly make a substantial amount of gaming choices.
No wonder I've made some bad gaming moves/decisions. Not to mention that one time I kept deleting the wrong saves and wondering why I wasn't progressing late into the night(morning).

'Impaired Judgment' due to sleep deprivation, of course, of course.

A new piece of gaming information can give a light bulb moment that lets you see(or think you see) a broader piece of the gaming puzzle. One that leads you onto a complete refit of 8 star-ships, it's  modules, officers and then character traits leading onto undocked testing. Next thing you know it's 4 a.m. You come back to the game 2 days later and wonder who filled your inventory with modules and why are all your star-ships are 'messed up'. 'Impaired Judgment' due to sleep deprivation no matter the underlying cause, of course, of course.

So a few nights ago for better or worse, I'm not sure which yet; I 'decided' to reclaim all the T6 and event ships which I'd not yet gained the top tier 5 mastery. Ship mastery for the uninitiated is the unlockable traits a ship gains as you use it. The more experience you gain the more passive buffs you unlock until your reach the top tier, level 5 which is a trait for your character to use no matter the ship they are in.

Whats worse is that this was all brought on by my realizing that I had a previous moment of brain dyslexia; Somewhere in the past(I had mistaken Dynamo for Domino and replaced all my ships Domino consoles with Dynamo consoles. So now I had to do a round of ship repeat reclaims to get enough Domino consoles for each ship, plus a few spare. Fit the console on all the ships in my roster and re-sort the left over modules etc. Leading me back to the original ship that I had to strip the fit from, to discharge it, allowing me to repeat claim it and get the consoles in the first place. Sooooo I then had to refit that ship, take it to space and redo all the in space tray buttons.

All said and done I was very much impressed with the renewed Bajoran Interceptor WITH it's Domino console.

What a noob manoeuvre it was to take one of the most powerful consoles from the very ship it came with. Makes me wonder how all my DPS chart testing of the old fits would have been affected. Double embarrassment for the Bajoran interceptor minus it's console in those videos!! #'Impaired Judgment'

Anyway all this ship fitting and faffing lead me to doing the T6 ship reclaims for traits that I'd not gotten yet. Mainly form ships that were not tactical based. They weren't a priority for me with my Tactical main hat on.

So I reclaimed them, and while I was at it finally used my T6 token to 'buy' a Z store ship. My choice was influenced a few days earlier by the knowledgeable CounterYolo Gaming and his Best Coupon Token Starships, v2.0 | Star Trek Online video.

So all said and done(again) by this point it was very, very A.M. And I still went on to get three ships run through TFO's to gain their top tier mastery trait unlock from scratch.

First was that new Cardi ship.

My main lacks the traits/skills and officer builds to properly use it. I've reclaimed it a few times for the console; Which I think is quiet good from my non meta ship fit good enough for me perch. Good to get the trait but the ship itself would need a lot of work to get up and running optimally. A down side of my jack-of-all trades take on the game.

The other two ships I took through the process were the T6 Recon Destroyer and the T6 Breen Plesh Tral.

To ran the ships through the TFO's I with a generic slap dash - ad-hoc one size fits all "carry me through advanced TFO's please", modules left in the inventory fit. Which to my surprise worked well enough. Yea the general meta of players running advanced TFO's is OP for the most part but I wasn't that much of a drag on the ticket.

I don't remember what time I fell into bed at but I'm happy with what got done/changed/re-changed and figured out. The zombie in the morning look makes me seem as if I'd had a hard night out. Guess I've got a form of high functioning 'impaired judgment' these day's. For now. Time will tell if that's a good or bad thing........ Or worse.

Just another 7 ships to go through....
