Syndicate Wars....

Syndicate Wars, a Bullfrog classic when they were making them in their golden age. I don't recall ever owning the game but I do remember playing the demo to bits. Seeing it on a GoG sale recently I picked it up. While my nostalgia for it may not be as ingrained as it would be if I'd bought the game back in the day; I do have a sliver of rose tinted glasses for what I did experience.
After playing it for a few hours it has fulfilled that bit of nostalgia. I've  played mission, gotten rewards and used those credits to buy gear/weapons and upgrade their body parts etc... It's been fun.

An additional hour or two and  I've drained all retro nostalgia I had.... It's been a nice distraction but it's really not a long-term interest for me.

Satellite Reign a spiritual successor started as a kickstarter in 2015 and seems to pulled it off in a love or loathe it kind of way... Or so I've read. But it does exist. I'm not tempted by it as I'd always go back to the like so XCom Enemy Unknown/Within instead(the fun still exists there for me). Then again I might reconsider XCOM: Chimera Squad.
