Eve Online.... Sunesis Side Up

The last few weeks of my faffing about with Eve Online has been very light. Most of the time has again been to do with character maintenance and skill queue tweaking. Not that many characters have skills left to do. Primarily one old alt and a hauler alt training skills to max them out for the sake of it. Alpha's everywhere.

I took my older "expendable" trial alts and went and did some ninja work. The changes to scanning seem to have made the ninja art too easy to do. Not that there was much to find, mission runners seem to be a lot more careful than they used to be. I know nothing of the main ninja alliances but I'd say they are crossing each others paths more than they used to do in order to gain "content".

Overall Eve hasn't had much news (#164. #165, #166) or patch details that have excited me. What was described as a PvE based expansion for this winter (Lifeblood) seems more and more Industry based (Resource Wars) rather than PvE.
Resource wars smells too much of incursion's based elitist fleets, even if they say they are designed for Alpha's and Omega's. Still there could be corp's based around this if CCp handle it in the right way. As faction warfare is to PvP, perhaps Resource Wars could be the same for PvE.

When I saw the latest agency effort (Alpha Three) it seemed like more of the same and I wasn't hopeful or impressed by what I saw. But there were two semi mystery box rewards and I decided to take a character and see how it went. With a lower number of points needed to gain rewards; As well as a lower number of all encompassing missions to gain those points, it felt more natural to do so that is an improvement at least.

Doing those didnt' take long, 18 points per day so three day's in all to complete all.

The first reward was uninspiring with a basic T1 racial hauler and one T1 Cargohold Expander.

Pushing on I claimed the destroyer pack which I presumed was going to be a racial destroyer.

What a surprise! A Sunesis, wow. I was more than surprised. CCP giving a reward that's actually worth something (18 to 22 million on the markets). So over all with that as a final reward... my opinion of the event as a whole is greatly increased. Bravo CCP, not often I get to say that (if ever I have?!). This is moving in the right direction.

There's still time for me to run my older alts through this "event" and claim a ship they never had, content ahoy.
