So it begins..... 3

Last night I did my usual Eve rounds and then fired up the trial alt.
Not having access to my usual setup I wasn't able to log the trial as well as a full account at the same time. So no care package for him yet.

I did make out a wish/todo list, including skills and some ships.

first up I have to say that this alt is not an isk sink, I've not sent him +4 implants or set him to a proper skill / learning queue. It's all very ad-hoc.

Skills needed sooner:
Drones to V. ( will need 20 light hobgoblin's )
Combat Probe & launcher skills.
Salvage Drone skills ( will need 15 of these )
Salvaging skill.
Scanning Skills +:

Ships needed: (Character is a Gallente)
A Scanning Imicus fit. ( only 1 )
A Salvage Tristan fit. ( x2 )

Used to:
         Scan out MTU's
         Ninja Salvage
Get a bounty placed on me. (may be harder then it seems)

It seems that I have that most annoying of aims for this alt... a ninja salvager, MTU wrecking scum. Lets see how this goes.

Oddly enough later on last night I did a few lvl 4 missions with my main and my friends main, what happened on every mission.... ninja salvagers and mtu shooters. You really can't take anything into space.

I found some info online about what skills I need to check on the trial, but am sure he has these already.

The skills that you should have to start scanning  and salvaging are.
Mechanic 3
Survery 3
Salvaging 1
Electronics 1
Science 3
Astrometrics 2
After you have this I would invest sometime on getting Salavging to level 3 or 4.

I slao found this of interest from http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/How_to_start_an_Alt_in_EVE_Online

Creating 51-day-freebie accounts for utility alts

When you're about to add 30 days of play time to your main account or to a paid alt account, pause and consider. You can parlay the same amount of cash, PLEX, or ISK into 30 days of play time PLUS a 51-day-freebie alt account by using the Buddy Program. (Note: a rule change in December 2012, disallowing PLEX-for-PLEX rewards, prevents us from getting more than one 51-day-freebie per paid month. Oh well.)
To make your 51-day-freebie alt, first send yourself a 21-day buddy offer as above. Set up a character on the new account by following the email link. Then, trade a PLEX to the new trial account (the easiest way is to use two EVE-capable computers, since you can't run a subscribed and a trial account on the same computer at the same time), or give ISK to the new account and buy a PLEX with it (if you have only one computer available), or simply pay cash. Add 30 days to the trial account, making it a fully active unrestricted account with 51 days left on it. If you've used a valid payment method (cash or PLEX, but no CD keys like from Steam), your main account will receive a choice of reward including 30 days of play time (or a PLEX if you've paid cash).
Congratulations! By applying your 30 days of credit to the new buddy alt instead of to your main, you've gained a 51-day-freebie alt to use for hauling (including industrials), salvaging, scouting (including cloaking), or even combat assistance, and you have still received the same 30 days on your main. When the 51 days are up, LET THE ALT LAPSE if you want to keep the net cost at zero, and simply create a new freebie once per paid (or PLEXed) month. It's a force multiplier!

Overall this trial alt has gotten skill books from the career agents or with isk from the career agents rewards. So far it's been on par with the amount of training. So I'm not doing missions for the isk to buy the skill books. I'm sure I can streamline the process and get things moving faster or have him being more usable soe purpose sooner. I have been training some skills that I think will be useful to level 3 but I wonder if they will be of use at all. I guess this test is all about the trial of the trail alt.

I am also wondering if I can keep things separate and not receive any isk or outside help.

Interesting little experiment.
