GRW....

The latest and last challenge of season 4 is again a Tier 1 booster. No use to me....

Half-Life....

Getting the Half-Life games bundle with the latest steam sale; I was happy to be reloading some old saves that still work, I got all nostalgic. More so for Blue Shift and Opposing Force than seeing the main game.

He hasn't aged well at all....

Hitman....

It (hiding them) happened by accident but by taking the screenshot, it proves I am that puerile....

SP:TFBW

I've notched this game as being done if not yet 100% complete. The main playthrough is finished and the story revealed. But with 1 side quest(Yaoi art) and some achievements left over I dont' feel any need to be a completionist about them.
Overall I had 26 Hours of shenanigans, fun on all levels of the spectrum, some minor filler and all.
For me it was worth it. I don't see myself doing a second playthrough but I can recommend the game. If you like South Park in any way the game will make you smile.
The true ending of the game is the real killer line from Butters and a possible hit at the next game.

There's still the DLC content to come to the game, more fun is to be had yet.

Danger Deck: Combat challenge against Doctor Timothy’s Danger Deck. To unlock costumes and artifacts. Available in December 2017.

From Dusk till Casa Bonita: A New story where players are to defeat a demonic presence at Casa Bonita. Available in 2018 (tbd).

Bring the Crunch: Another New story bringing a new superhero class. Again available in sometime in 2018.

Torchlight II....

I had a problem with the game crashing as soon as I clicked play on the launcher. Which was strange as I'd been using the game fine on my laptop. The saves were synced online and downloaded to the pc with no problems but it still would black screen and crash.

A lot of hours (I mean a loooot) and many game verifications / reinstalls later and the answer was in the crash log from the windows application event viewer.

Faulting application name: Torchlight2.exe, version: 1.25.5.6
Faulting module name: rzdspsrv.dll, version: 1.0.12.10166
Faulting application path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Torchlight II\Torchlight2.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\InGameEngine\32bit\rzdspsrv.dll

That rzdspsrv.dll file is part of the Razer Synapse software application (V2.21) for my mouse and keyboard.
To resolve the problem I closed the Razer software and started the game. Which then ran without any further problems.

Bit of a pain to do each time but at least the game works.

I've seen a lot of posts with similar problems.... So Razer and similar software may cause the same problem, so just putting this out to the interwebs.......

Hitman....

Finally with some manoeuvring I got the final challenge, which in turn unlocked the overall challenge and marked all as complete.

With Colorado done I can move from the farm to the snowy mountain side of Hokkaido. Apt for the time of year. I've been to Hokkaido (in game) before with an Elusive target and the newer Patient Zero Campaign. That campaign has all but one challenge left.

Seems like a good starting spot; To finish that campaign before finalising the main campaign challenges on that map. I'm looking forward to it, it's a fun location.

Xbox Games with Gold....

It's nice to get free stuff but for December I'm no tempted by any of the 'games with gold' freebies. Back to the Future The Game may get a quick look'see....

Hitman....

Jeff does have a bigger story arc...! Freaking hilarious.

Once again from MrFreeze2244:

Planet Nomads....

The only reason I'm mentioning this game (Planet Nomads) is because it rings so many No man's Sky bells in my brain. It may have been inspired by games such as Minecraft, Space Engineers and No Man's Sky but even the games main website looks a lot like NMS's!
It's hard to judge a game (despite it's long development cycle) when it looks 99% like another game.

STO....

With the end of the event reputation the reward of the dilithium was nice but the weapon was an anticlimax to say the least.

Waffle....

I usually roll my eye's at the majority of posts from Eve Online's facebook page.... but this one is kind of ..... not bad.....

Space Hulk Deathwing....

I've had Space Hulk Deathwing on my wish list for over a year, just keeping an eye on it. It's had many sales. Almost permanently at stages. The current sale on now has seen a greater price drop to €19.99.

Still not enough of a drop for me to buy it. While the last year has seen a lot of polish & patches being added; I've been waiting for it to be released on console. A reworked version was to be patched, tweaked, changed, and updated further when released on console this December. The PC version is to get all the same updates for free. I've been waiting to see if these changes make it worth picking up. I was massively excited when I first saw this game and disappointed with the launch reviews. I've been waiting for this repatched enhanced (console) version to make or break it finally once and for all. Time will tell.

Waffle....

So many game sales not just Steam but GoG, Humble Bundle, Ubisoft etc.....

For me mainly Steam today..... I got a few bits.

I got Torchlight 2, it's been on my long term fringe list since I played the original a billion years ago.
The art style and gameplay really appeal to me. For modability it has that up the wazoo, I'll have to step slowly into that arena once I get my bearings.

I've had so many version of Half Life 1 and 2 over the years I decided to get the bundle to have it all in one location.

And last (for now) I got a lot of addon's for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Not a game I spend a lot of time in but I do enjoy it depending on the mood...

STO....

The Zen I've built up has finally burnt a hole in my pocket. I bought the Mercenary outfit set.

It's a set with many accessories that can be mixed and matched a lot of ways. I've noticed them a lot over my STO time when redoing the looks of my characters.

For the real burn I splashed out in two lots of 10x lockbox key's.
Unfortunately there were no ships, there were lots of R&D mats. I don't do R&D so lol on me. There was also some ship/ground gear and a space trait.

I don't feel hard done by with the unlocks but it could have been better.

Player numbers are really noticeable in the bank for being either short short or tall tall..... I'm just being mind fked with now....

Hitman....

Colorado is done.... Well the old Colorado, the newer Master Scarecrow Challenge is the last step left for that map, specifically one challenge: Lighten Up (alternative). It's proving to be a stubborn, tricky one for me.

Thankfully it's a challenge that can be done in the main mission so allows for saves. I'd not like to even try this on Pro mode.... I might try the alternative version if my luck stays 'bad'.

STO....

I've reversed my decision to use the temporal bundle C-Store ship on my main. In using the new ship I thought I'd geared it up to be on par with the old reward T6. In practice I was not as tanky leading to many death's, as well as not doing enough damage. Time for a change again.

After switching back to the Vorgon Xyfius T6 two things were very noticeable.
Survivability; Even in the midst of a large number of enemies I was able to survive well.
Damage; So many numbers scrolling and not just low numbers but nice big juicy damage numbers.

So I'll be reevaluating ships per class/character (again) and not just using the store ships, they are proving to be not better or even equal to the free ships I've received in the past. This is a good predicament to be in. It proves to me that the game isn't just a straight up pay to win. Every ship no matter how you get it, free or payed, has it's pro's and con's. If I'd paid for zen to get the bundle I'd be disappointed, on the other hand it makes me happy that I put the bit of effort in to get the free event ships. I'm not a hardcore STO player, I'm a filthy casual carebear; But this return to an older free ship is making my gameplay a lot more enjoyable. It's not often you find a game that gives you something for free that makes a real difference to empower your gamplay. In doing the current Mirror universe invasion event I now don't die and I'm killing a lot of ships. I feel like I'm making the win rather than just being present (and trying to just close rifts).

Hitman....

Another good video from MrFreeze2244.

This is one freaky (low level) NPC story to have in a game. Especially as it's across two missions. I usually just subdued the guy, hid him to gain access to his room/disguise and not thought any more about it/them. Not even noticing him in the second mission (he even seems to show up in at least one more mission(the sniper only map)). I do appreciate the Wilhelm scream.(compilation)

GRW....

I like that Ubisoft rewards players with their "club" points system to gain cosmetic items. It's essentially free stuff for free points. Points which you gain through the normal achievements as you play. Aaaaaanyhoo, the latest is a new ghillie suit. Woodland. Probably for the PvPers than anything else.

While I like it for being a better fuller pattern of camo, I dislike that it doesn't cover the characters back.  Meh it's a small thing.

But I'll be sticking with the compact camo Ghillie.

Not that I've been doing anything in game in the last while, this is the second cosmetic to bring me back since my finishing up of Fallen Ghosts....

Project Hospital....

Project Hospital looks to be a good take on a modern Theme Hospital. It's the next step. With it out early next year I'll be keeping a nostalgic eye on it.

Hitman....

I've been enjoying the last parts of the Colorado map.

One assassination challenge and three from the Scarecrow set (excluding the overall unlock for the fifth) will see it 100% complete.

Some challenges are better than others. Others need online community help to solve.

Who says Hitman doesn't have it's quirky side.

MrFreeze2244 has done a lot to do and compile the ins and outs of the new mini campaign; He did a good video review. I think I like the new content a smidgen more than his end score. 8/10 from me.

Hitman....

Even with help from youtubers (MrFreeze2244) or websites the practical use of their tactics within the game can vary when you try it yourself.
I had intended to do the first elusive target by doing the 'Attic take down'; But a newer video showing a quicker and easier way starting as a tech interested me. That's where the practical vs planning clashed. For me it took too much time to get to the target (by about a second), which in turn made all other plans to poison him impossible. The target would spot me. That one second moved him out of place and he wasn't being distracted to look the other way. So I decided to move on to the next option. Guard distracted and subdued, follow the target into the office, choke, snap and hide him.  It could have been worse.

Having taken down some of the later targets, doing this one gave me the Absolution suit with gloves.

GRW....

Not a bad prop at all, puts the spec into spec ops.....

Hitman....

With so much coverage online about the Game of the Year content, I decided to take a break from Colorado (main game) and cover the new campaign and it's challenges more fully. Which I'm happy so say I've got 99% complete. I can't praise the new campaign, challenges and escalations enough. So much fun. And with the return of the elusive targets (I missed a lot being a year late to the game), more fun is imminent.

Stardew Valley....

Interesting comments about the Multiplayer patch and the changes coming. More questions than answers for now but the future seems bright for the game.

To classic or not to classic....

The experience of vanilla wow with or without true vanilla coded servers. So many questions about the 'new' classic wow. They wont' be in a hurry to release it..... What will Blizz deliver as a final product?

The Orange Hatter has a good video on What Made Vanilla World of Warcraft so Memorable? - HatterRants

Worth a share....

Truth within....

A video from gameranx:

Hitman....

I'm still working my way through completing all the challenges in Colorado. The addition of the new game of the year content has been interesting but has slowed my progress. I've not gone to the new mini campaign yet, but I've completed the new escalations for the suits and their associated weapons.

The Clown and Cowboy were the most fun for me. All three are enjoyable and not overly complex.
I don't see myself using anything other than the 300 Ghost rifle and raven suit outside of these missions but there is more fun to be had, just like with Santa 47.

GRW....

With the completion of the latest special challenge and my main characters tier climb; I decided to finish off the DLC: Fallen Ghosts. I've stated before the disconnect from your main campaign character when you go to the dlc. Recreating a character for each dlc is a disconnect that I hate but thankfully I recreated my main (and smg/lmg) character's looks 100%. Weapons on starting are on par with what you would have (for the most part) had at the end of the main game. Some extra weapons are also added to both indicate the new situation and circumstances in the dlc.

There is a level increase in the dlc. The main game leaves you at level 30 (excluding tier system, none of that here), the dlc increases that to 35. Not that the leave is important but as you go through the game you get skill points to apply.  Bulletproof and Bloodlust being the most important with the added bonus of Fast Reload on getting all the skills.

The dlc is set after the events of the main storyline, a storyline that created a power vacuum that creates the world of the Fallen Ghosts dlc. There are three provinces, created from a mix of regions from the main campaigns. I have always liked the jungle section of the game and these new regions show that in spades. It's immersive and atmospheric. Not that the regions are big but because of the old region mix they do feel different.

The new enemy that has moved in on the game world feel very G.I. Joe esq with their black and yellow camo. I like that feel. The Los Extranjeros are a step up on the military ladder from the main games Unidad forces.

  • Footman - Basic infantry on par with the basic Unidad soldiers.
  • Armoured - These heavy soldiers have advanced bulletproof body armour and can only be damaged by explosives or by headshots. Facing off against these guys when they are marching towards you blasting away with an LMG can be a pain.
  • Covert Ops - These soldiers wear predator camo suits and carry crossbows so not only do you not see them but they are hard to locate when they attack. They are the only reason I've had to use thermal vision. They are very deadly in larger numbers. And they are in larger numbers later in the game.
  • Jammer - Equipped with portable jamming devices that disable the tactical map, night/thermal vision, and drones. So getting rid of them is a priority. They also have an area of effect on your character's vision that glitches your view and it can be very disorientating.
  • Elite snipers - Using heavy rifles with a tell tale red-dot scope. They spot you from a distance with ease.
So the usual priority for me is to remove the snipers that could spot me, remove the cloaked covert ops, remove the jammers, then the heavy's and grunts as they patrol.

The best mission is the second to last where you need to attack a base and need to watch out for large numbers of these guys who are patrolling in ways that compliment each other.

There is a new CIA operative that coordinates for you but the end of the game was a good reconnection with the main campaign.

The dlc also has a better damage/bleed visual blurry effect. Like the jammer glitch that seems as if your brain is being hacked. Great effects. No flat image does it justice.

I've not died a lot on the missions but when I did none ever felt unjustified.

Each regions missions lead along a storyline to a boss battle. As the main game it's fulfilling on both storyline and progression. Each feeding into the other.

Each boss is a harder version of a class of enemy, Heavy, Covert Ops and Jammer.
I could be descriptive but images will be more informative about the game without letting spoilers out:

A dlc well worth the journey and a great way to finish off a game I now consider fully complete.
