Hello, hello, Hello Games....

While I was very, very sceptical about any update for No Man's Sky I've been surprised today at the 4.1GB update  that has been released(update 1.2). This seems on the face of it to go part way toward a better game that can bring players back.

Owning multiple ships and ultra high textures along with lots of quality of life tweaking is good to see.
"The Path Finder update introduces planetary vehicles, base sharing, PS4 Pro support, ship/weapon specialisation, permadeath mode, and much more. It shows the path for the future."

I'm sceptical of the sharing of bases online but time will tell if its practical and workable. Never mind if anyone will actually see them. There was a greater chance when there was 200k + players. There has been a bump in numbers of online players today. 1800 players currently on Steam, even at that in my opinion, like I said before Hello games needs to do a lot more to pull players back in. I can see myself going for a spin in a buggy on a planet and then not doing it again. I am glad they are still working on it, and glad that they are releasing big patches with lots of content. I hope they can sustain it and win people back.

As an aside and probably showing my age but when I look at the vehicles in No Man's Sky I can't help but be reminded of this toy from my childhood (its a goods thing)...
