I saw an article linked on Facebook, worth a share as I agree on the points it raises about Star Trek Online.

In all my time in STO I've never felt any need to pay let alone be forced.
The amount of "store" items I've gotten for free via in game promotions, free or through earnings is testament to that. Like being able to gain Dilithium, convert it to Zen, save up and shop away... If you want it all a.s.a.p then cash for time is king like other games but I've not needed it.
