One thing I did notice that was nice about the Tier system is that if you are partial to the special weapons you can upgrade their damage. They may not have interchangeable parts for customisation but this extra damage option is a gift for those that prefer these weapons. A later grind for another day or revisit of the game in the 'distant' future on my grey man perhaps.
